When the day had started just right, you immediately know what you were about to busy yourself with. Considering there wasn’t much happening in the clan and nothing you could help Norm and Max with, you hopped into your link shack, opting not to go out with an annoying exopack outside.

Besides, you’d rather be in your avatar body anyway for what you were about to do.

Waking up in your avatar body, you took the necessary precautions, moving around, stretching your muscles and checking your reflexes. Once you deemed it was all good, you quickly made you way onto a little chest you had kept in your tent.

Crouching down, you had picked up a few books in your hand. That’s right, you were going to spend the day reading. Smiling as you imagined yourself leaned against the tree, book in hand, and the sun providing the much-needed light to read, you were determined to make that a reality.

Standing up, you carried the books in one hand, quickly leaving the tent and running away to find a spot.

After finding the perfect tree, not too far from home, you sigh in relief, sitting down and leaning your back against it, placing the rest of the books beside you stacked neatly as you picked the one you were reading before.

Opening the book, you were met with the last page you had remembered reading, the memory feeling like yesterday, but in reality was a few weeks ago. Smiling to yourself, your eyes began scanning the words, taking it all in and making a little bubble of your imagination.

When you were already halfway through and deep in thought as you read, your reflexes had calmed down to a point where you didn’t hear something approaching, rather someone.

"This is my favourite day ever."

"You always say that." You scoff playfully, sitting criss-cross on one of the huge branches of Home Tree, overlooking the forest. Neteyam's slim fingers make quick work of the matching arm band he was giving you. He liked giving you gifts, and it feels like he could exolode whenever he sees you wearing them proudly, saying that he gave it to you.

Neteyam inserts the beads and quite the colorful feather together, the beads matching the ones in his braids, the feather being the same colour as his.

"Then let me rephrase; this is my favourite time of day ever. When I get to hang out with you." He spoke, voice deep as his gaze remains on his work, but you could see the smile on his face.

Tucking some of his stray braids away so you could see him clearly, you never miss how his actions falter, before returning to their normal speed.

"You give me too much, 'Teyam." You say, tilting your head and watching him.

"It is because you deserve it, my love...and it feels great hearing you brag about me." The last sentence makes you laugh, shaking your head.

"Pleasure' s all mine, you don't know how much I appreciate you, 'Teyam."

Your words make him turn a shade darker, still not meeting your eyes.

Getting restless of not seeing your lover's eyes, you sigh and scoot much closer to him, placing your hands on his, making him pause and finally lift his head up to look at you confused.

You only grinned at him, hands transferring to cup his cheeks and press your forehead to his. He smiles widely at the affection.

"Why did you stop me? I was almost done."

"Hush, can't I shower my mate with love and affection for a moment? You're really irresistible y'know."

Neteyam sports a look of smugness, about to speak up with a smirk tugging on the corner of his lips.

However, none came out as you had already shut him up with your mouth on his.

note: a lil neteyam drabble i came up w in the span of 10 minutes bc i missed writing for him and for avatar :')

Night Swim

Summary: You decided to drag Neteyam onto the ocean after days of not being able to be with him.

“Hold on, where are you taking me, woman?”

Neteyam breathes out with a laugh as he tries to follow your steps, it wasn’t helping that you were literally tugging on his arm to go faster.

The sun had started to set, colouring the sky in a somewhat purple hue as the waves crashed against the surface.

You turned around to face Neteyam and you smiled, yet did not answer him.

Only then you opened your mouth when you found the perfect spot, just in time before dark.

“I’ve been wanting to spend time with you.”

You utter, slowly stepping back into the sea, pulling Neteyam with you. Neteyam raised a brow, tilting his head.

“You’ve been gone for too long.” Was all you said.

“I’m here now.” He confirmed, reeling in the water with you as he takes your arms and wraps it around his neck.
