Bobby wearing his uniform with his regular ring is causing me psychological damage actually. He puts on the uniform to pretend he's still a firefighter, but he doesn't switch to a work ring because he knows he's not. There's no danger to the precious symbol of his and Athena's love on a TV set. It's not going to get lost or damaged when he's busy saving lives because he isn't allowed to put it at risk like that anymore. He's putting on a front with the uniform, but he knows it's a hollow gesture
