I will be attending my first NHL game in November and it is going to be Penguins vs Capitals!
This is a dream come true! Not only to see a game live, but to see Crosby and Ovechkin play against each other. The media around their rivalry during the 2010 Olympics turned me from a casual viewer to a big fan of hockey. Some of my fondest memories surround watching hockey with my Granda and him teasing me for being a Penguins fan!
If anyone has advice for a first timer, please let me know!
Yay! I'm happy for you, you'll have a great time. (I'll be at that game too!) What a game to see as your first one. As for advice, I second the person who mentioned how loud it can get with goals. Which is to say, very. The one thing I'll say is to get to the arena as early as you can. You can the lay of the land, find your seats, get something to eat and watch the warm ups. Sometimes the players have special jerseys on. Optionally you can head to the glass and watch the warm ups up close. Maybe even convince a player to toss you a puck.
But the most important thing to remember is to have fun!

It may not have been the outcome we Caps fans wanted but we should still be proud. Everyone had counted us out at the beginning of the season. Most, if not all, said that there was no way we would make the playoffs.
But, we did! We made it. We defied the odds and made to the post-season. We exceeded expectation and did much better than most thought. And that, my friends deserves to be recognized.
Great job, 2023-24 Caps. Well done!
