Ben Platt should not play Evan in the upcoming Dear Evan Hansen movie.
Hear me out.
There are younger and younger looking actors who are just as talented and maybe want to follow Ben's lead and start doing camera work. It's the perfect opportunity to give someone a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Did I just scream at my tv because Payton didn't answer THAT QUESTION at the end? Yes. Yes, I did.
Do I regret it? No.

Ben Platt's character in the Politician being told that he should be on Broadway instead of in Politics is the funniest thing that happened in season 2 and you can't change my mind.
I was just sitting there like
Ben Platt kissing woman and making it seem realistic is the perfect example for "You can bullshit your way through everything"
This is the only thing I will be talking about the next few weeks.
I just finished a rom com like tv show about a polyamorous throuple and now this? THAT'S SO FUCKING GREAT.
Also don't hate me but I lowkey shipped Astrid and Payton at the end of the first season.
Say whatever you want about 'The Politician' but the season 1 intro is actual fucking art.
So much foreshadowing and Ben Platt going from made out of wood to a 'real boy' gives me chills every time.
I'm not going to make many friends with this opinion. But this is a hill I'm willing to die on.
I love Ben (I mean look at my icon) but a fully grown man playing Evan just isn't it when there are actors who are younger and just as talented.
I was today years old when I found out that Marc Platt aka Ben Platt's father is producing the Dear Evan Hansen movie adaptation.
I have no idea how I missed that.
Ben Platt: *while playing Evan Hansen* I don't do anything remotely dangerous as not to endanger my voice or body so I can give my best in every performance.

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I'd rather see Andrew Barth Feldman play Evan Hansen in the DEH movie adaptation. He has the talent, experience with anxiety and most importantly THE RIGHT AGE.
If they did cast Ben Platt as Evan, every other teenage character would automatically have to be played by people in their mid twenties too. Otherwise it would be too obvious that Ben Platt is too old.
And the thought of that just doesn't sit right with me.
