I’m tired of this complex queer goyim have where they think all lgbt people were persecuted by the Nazis as if there aren’t very famously queer Nazis and collaborators, and as if queer German Christians couldn’t get out of it by signing a fucking affidavit and/or getting lavender married, which was not a grace afforded to Jews or Roma
like man Charlotte von Mahlsdorf did a ton for the east Berlin queer community but she also very much did directly get her first ladies’ clothes and jewels by raiding (presumably largely cishet) Jews’ homes after they were deported.

#Yes oh my fucking god all the fucking posts about Magnus Hirschfeld which act like he was persecuted specifically for doing trans research#The ifs definitely was also targeted because of its political goals#(which included advocacy for gay and trans people as well as abortion access prostitution legalisation and sexual liberty)#(and for the majority of its existence it was basically an STD clinic - it was not a hospital and they did not do surgery there)#but also sexual health - like psychology - was a very Jewish-dominated field because it was very new at the time#and therefore did not have the antisemitic structures as other fields did to keep Jews out of it#(e.g. church run hospitals#which made up a huge percentage of hospitals at the time not employing Jews)#and the persecution was also very much based on the fact that the ifs was majority Jewish doctors#If you look at the non-Jewish doctors doing trans research you will find that they did just fine under Nazism#In fact the doctor who did the first known successful vaginoplasty in history later experimented on prisoners in dachau concentration camp#and the doctor who did srs for lili elbe later performed involuntary sterilisations of disabled people#The Nazi persecution targeted men (or people seen as such) having sex with other men#(in fact the Nazis technically legalised Lesbian sex in Austria - it was illegal before the Anschluss#and it was discussed whether to ban it in the rest or to legalise it in Austria#and the very conscious decision was made to do the latter)#but that persecution very much targeted Jews and Roma more heavily than 'Aryans'
