Like a Boss

Sure, Breath of the Wild is looking a lot like Shadow of the Colossus, but so what? Shadow of the Colossus is basically the answer to “what would you get if you took The Legend of Zelda and took out everything but the overworld exploration and the boss fights?” in the first place - it’s not even slightly subtle about its inspirations. Why reinvent the wheel if you’re got a proof of concept right there?

To be fair, there’s a solid thematic reason Wander doesn’t have a hookshot. If he had a hookshot, there’s a slight risk he might look like he’s having fun, and that would violate the basic principle that Being Wander Is Suffering.
