I’m Remi. I’m a grown-ass woman who loves hyperfixating on media (especially animation, frequently cartoons for children), and drawing/writing about it.

I think that treating people with conscious, intentional kindness is important. I think that stuff that harms people is bad; that the reason it’s bad is “because it harms people”; and that visceral disgust-reactions are a very bad indicator of morality.

I'm apparently somewhere in the Tumblr Rationalist Adjacency. I appreciate some of the norms that have made their way to this periphery, but I do think the Rats are often overly dismissive of a lot of things that I think are important. Also I don't really like arguing, I'm kinda just here to have a good time. I still think theunitofcaring is probably the best blog on the internet.

(If you think that people who make or enjoy fiction that you find viscerally nasty, and/or that would be awful if it happened in real life, are automatically evil and deserve to be punished, I will probably not feel safe around you.)

I softblock followers sometimes; preserving my Nice Time On The Computer is important to me. I'm saying this here because being on the receiving end of a softblock can be ambiguous and feel kind of crazymaking, and I'm hoping that mentioning it can help reduce that if it comes up.

robin hobb got me hook line and sinker, I was SO certain fitz was going to end up bonding with Fleeter. oh fitz.....

fitz so certain he's on trial about to be exiled or something for his failures when actually it's a family meeting of people who love him gathered to grieve with him. this dude truly, truly is incapable of trusting that anyone cares for him.

streamin elden ring some more. should be a pretty short one this time, and in fact if I am still streaming 90 minutes from now someone should yell at me to knock it off and go brush my teeth

fitz my idiot boy do you not remember what happened the last time you were on carris seed. it went basically as badly for you as anything ever has! you know this! bro........ bro come on man. and feeding it to a horse??? seems messed up

it's SUCH an interesting change after only bonding to dogs and a wolf but Fitz's (likely) new wit-bond being a super cool horse does feel, like, correct. It's the one kind of animal he has no choice but to be in proximity with if he wants to go anywhere. Much harder to resist and avoid than just about anything else. I got tricked, too, I saw the wings on the books cover and we met Motley the crow and I was like "oh huh I guess it's going to be a crow!" But Motley is firmly the Fool's, even if he lacks the Wit

(though-- dragon blood does a lot of wild shit, giving him the Wit would not be all that unexpected tbqh. and like even without it Motley can literally speak out loud at least somewhat

ohhhhh what if he never gets his sight fully back but he's able to see through her eyes.......)

(also also: which dragon did that blood belong to! Chade said the dragon was already dead, was it one of the full-fledged dragons or one of the ones that died early before they started on their way to Kelsingra? I guess there was that red one that tromped off and died.)

also. ok. unrelated to that. I feel good that I predicted like five pages after Bee was born that she was in some way also the Fool's child, because of the time Fitz and the Fool traded bodies for a second. Mixing up their essences and such. I didn't even remember that the Fool had mentioned, long ago, having two fathers and a mother. Hobb found a way to let Fitz and the Fool have a kid together.... and they were both boys...... as far as we know anyway.
