Sorry for everyone else but my Rook has been leaving Lucanis with the yearning urges after every time they speak to one another or when he catches a glance at Rook cooking, laughing with Bel, hugging Assan, dancing with Harding after one too many beers, arm wrestling Taash and Davrin for the last slice of blackberry chocolate pie, helping pin Neve's hat to her hair, and watching as Rook reads over Emmerich's shoulder with a particularly good book. You can just make up intimate longing if you want. I do it all the time. Lucanis is down so bad he shuts himself in his pantry so he doesn't make a fool of himself.

I really feel like Dragon Age Veilguard was in a lose/lose situation for a ton of DA fans bc there is no way to create a DA game that is more strictly linear by minimizing the choice impacts of the previous 3 games without pissing off ppl who felt the OG trilogy's really made their choices have lasting affects, even if those affects also in the grand scheme of things didn't really do much in each game beyond lore flavor text, cameos, and Morrigan's story. Dragon Keep did something to fans' brains chemistry that really made it feel like the games were way more personal than they really were (me included). Like some of the people are out here like "so nothing I did mattered?", Well...did how you handle Loghain really have any lasting gameplay and narrative affects that shook up DA2 or DAI? Truly? Like The Warden is never seen again in the series, you can see some of their respective love interests and get a nod on their potential travels, but for the most part they are gone and their big impact actions was stopping the 5th blight and helping Morrigan have a baby...everything else is just different spices on the same meal. Did Hawke's story really do anything for the mages or templars throughout all of Ferelden?? Minus make them a person the Chantry wants to use to help band ppl together? Did Sebastian becoming a king and Aveline joining up with him while most of the south is dying to darkspawn in a codex in Veilguard really erase their interactions in DA2??? Or is it in the face of death and doom unlikely people join together once more?? Does it hurt when you hear Isabela talk about learning what family meant to her if you turned on her in DA2? Sure, that is a slap to your choice, but we knew they were going this route; we knew they were going to pick what was canon and what was not in this all but confirmed soft-relaunch of the series. I'm not saying this game should be given a free pass on their writing's flaws, bc there are many...it is a Bioware game after all. But I am saying you might need to let go of the OG trilogy to enjoy this game's potential. You obviously don't have to listen to me, but if you keep comparing it to the original 3 you are never going to be anything but disappointed in Veilguard, bc it is not the same RPG first, action story second. It is a Linear, action based game with the RPG taking a back seat. Brother it is Mass Effect with elves. And I think if that hint at the end of the credits is anything to go by, if this is the set up for a new series of Dragon Age you are going to be spending more time with this group...at least I hope that is what they were hinting at bc this ending with this group left me feeling the same way I felt at the end of Mass Effect 1, like they just starting off with these characters and you have more to explore with each of them.

The Veilguard did what I never imagined...It got me to support The Egg...so much so Imma replay it and have my Inquisitor having romanced him like I am like "Brother I'm sorry I told you to shut up and be nice when you yelled at me about Cole in Inquisition now ;O;"

I don't wanna be too harsh on this game bc ppl are already going above and beyond on that and I overall think this game is amazing. THAT SAID: I fully finished one of my companions' quests, Harding's. I think they missed the mark on her so much and it wouldnt take a ton of rework, they should just have shown her bottled up emotions boiling up more than one lash out that was extremely tempered, maybe some more background quips where she is trying to bite back her frustration and angry about her situation and the revelations, and a cut scene or two of her rock magic going wonky or hard to control due to her emotions (the beginning quest really makes it read like she just doesn't know how to activate it and then bam, she gets it and there is hints of her not being 100% in control in talks with others but we never really see it?? At least my run down I didn't.) I truly think her story is the least fleshed out compared the the others' and I aint even finished with their's. ) :
