i think what annoys me about 90% of fandom discourse is like…yall have a weird fixation on stagnant characters. Like it’s pretty evident that change is not something any of ya’ll deal well with, so ya’ll can’t possibly fathom a character starting in one place and ending up at another, whether that be from hero - villain or villain - hero or anything in between. The dynamics of how it’s done is a whole other thing, but like…ya’ll will pull some of the wildest shit out of yalls asses to justify why a character needs to stay the exact same as they were when they were first introduced and never ever change
Raise your hand if you’re tired of hearing “the original is always better” mentality.
hot 2016 trend: stop making terrible reboots of good cartoons
Hot trend of 2016: stop bitching.
I point out some flaws in PieGuy’s “Don’t Like Don’t Watch” claim.
This is for everyone who forces themselves to something that grinds their gears so much they need to rant about every chance they get instead of doing the simple thing of walking away from a self stress inducing situation.
There’s a chance that the United States might elect a president who is willing to persecute about 3 million people based on their religion because of actions of a few.
But please rant on about how “the x reboot is ruining your childhood” is the sign of the apocalypse.
As someone that grew up with 90’s cartoons and so on, I never understand why people who grew up with me hate the new reboots because they aren’t for us anymore nor are the ever marketed to replace the original cartoon. When Teen Titans Go! was starting, they were pretty damn clear that it was about what the Titans did while they weren’t being Titans and I never got the vibe that it would be the original Teen Titans. It’s damn near embarrassing when I hear 20 somethings talking shit about the Powerpuff Girls reboot or other reboots because we aren’t kids anymore, it’s no longer ours and there is a whole generation behind me that loves the new and bright cartoons. And the solution to the problem is so simple, just don’t watch it. Like, I cant believe people on here actually waste time bitching about reboots??? Please remember they aren’t thinking about your nostalgia when this shit is made, you are no longer their target audience.
Saw a promo image for the new Ben 10 on CN’s Facebook page and unsurprisingly the “Stop ruining my childhood” people has resurfaced again.
Hey you know no one says you have to watch it.
Annyway I’m gonna give it a chance because it’s not like they can make Ben into more of a jerk at age 10 than he was in Omniverse when he was around age 17-18.
For the next revival of an old popular series (because it’s gonna happen whether we like it or not), I’ll try to stay away from the internet about it because I’ve gotten so tired of the nostalgic babies whining “It’s not like how I remembered!” “The animation is literally giving me cancer!” “Stop raping my childhood”. Seriously if you hate these remakes so much, make your peace with it and move on. It will save you the mutliple migraines and heart attacks you’ll get from putting yourself in constant negativity.
