welcome!

My name is Dot (she/her) and this is my little corner of the internet where I scream into the void about the various pixel beloveds from video games! This is a much more organized sideblog to my main, @space-unicorn-dot, so that's where follows and likes will come from, and I generally operate reblogs on the queue system to share here interesting things from the games currently eating away at my brain!

Amidst that are some occasional fanfic written by yours truly, some of my own screenshots of my seemingly ever-growing list of ocs, and oc development rambles. Whatever games I'm playing and am in my feelings over are generally because of story-related reasons, and especially for characters! So, I love developing my blorbos and pondering their motivations - and wherever that leads them in their stories!

This blog does contain spoilers that I make an effort to tag when it refers to more recently released content. Primarily, those interests are Star Wars: The Old Republic related, but I am finally returned to Final Fantasy XIV and you can still find some of my Baldur's Gate 3 stuff. A general "spoilers" tag may be used to cover things broadly, but I'm most active in my SWTOR tag. SWTOR spoilers should be covered by both a general "swtor spoilers" tag and, if it's relevant to a recently released patch relevant to the post or queue date, "swtor [name of patch]" without the brackets and "swtor #.#" referring to the patch number. I'm trying to stay on top of tagging at least the expansion relevant to what I'm getting back to posting for FFXIV, but the previous general spoiler-tagging protocols may apply. If it's something I am originally posting, spoilers will generally be contained underneath a cut if it's a text-based post including a description prior to the cut of what it may be spoiling. If it's an image-based post, refer back to general spoiler tags and I will make an effort to tag anything relevant to the type of spoiler it may be.

If there is Imperial Agent posting in the SWTOR tag, please know that is essentially my summoning circle, lol. You may use your agent or questions about my own set of them to summon me Final Fantasy style.

I have a list of my more regular/prominently mentioned ocs here! If a particular character has caught your eye and you'd like to learn more, they generally have their own tag that is referenced in the masterlist!

hey friends! i'm, unsurprisingly, playing veilguard (and i'm having a blast!), so i'm starting to add a bit of my stuff into the queue - mostly screenshots, no story thoughts atm because i'm also trying to go as blind myself as possible and taking my time with it in one of the busiest times of the year to be a college student.

so! as a psa, the spoiler tags i will be using if they are not already in your blacklist: datv spoilers, dav spoilers, datv, dav.

currently the earliest my queue has one of these popping out is november 16th. if, for some reason, i feel compelled to post something before then outside of the queue system, it will still follow the above tagging.

well i didn't expect to be back on this post again akdfnla;sdnfl. anyway, another thought on this, i've been including non-context inclusive general screenshots in this amongst things that are also from quests or whatever because i wanted to go into playing as blind and blissful as possible.

that said, i don't have a system for designating those out of the quest inclusive stuff and don't intend to so my general recommendation is still wait until you've satisfied your own playthru and whatnot before you dig into my tags for it that'll be coming up if any of the above is important to you. stuff that's just art/screenshots/whatever of the companions without story relevance i might be more lax with because we had material on them prior to the release (meaning they'll maybe not have the 'spoilers' part on them, but they'll still be under the dav + datv tag bc those are for general organization).

and on that note i'm off to bed bc idk if that was particularly coherent but i was queueing things again and thought it was worth mentioning xD

47. What's Rook's temper like?

I've raised an unabashed smartass, your honor. 😔 Probably largely thanks to having spent a fair amount of time with the Shadow Dragons prior to Varric and Harding recruiting him for help against Solas, and having largely grown up in Minrathous prior. Rook's a version of Tyr that doesn't have to hide as frequently his opinions on how the system is broken, and what he thinks of right and wrong. I'd still hesitate to call him explosive - he still knows how such appearances might be used against him, but nor does he entirely shy away from leaning into being called Tevinter rabble. His temper is usually a vein of sarcastic venom, and it can get pretty impassioned if he tries the path of reason only to get pushed around more. Tyr's a man whose ideals have always pushed him towards the knife's edge of change and who I'd argue is just as emotional as he is logical.

He's got his patience, but it can be tested, and he's not afraid of pushing back when he's shoved around, especially if he thinks a greater good will suffer in inaction or indifference. Vindictive is not always a side of Tyr that's been shown off in his roles in other interests of mine, but not even he's entirely immune to that siren song. His temper tends to come about because he's stubborn, he very rarely knows how to quit, and he resents a harm committed without remorse - when pride gets in the way and blinds people. If you're trying to justify a harm by saying you've helped somebody, it's generally a very quick way to get him snappish.

48. A color, flower, animal, and weather to describe Rook:

Color: Storm Blue. I'm a sucker for him in darker colors, true. The N7 day gear was admittedly a bit of a lifesaver, but picking for vibes... gotta say storm blue was my first thought.

Flower: White Chrysanthemum. Because I love silly little google searches for symbolism, white chrysanthemums have associations (depending on geographic location) with grief and mourning to honesty and loyalty.

Animal: Is it too easy to say loyalty like a dog again? The Let Dead Dogs Die kind of loyal? The kind of loyal they applaud Mabari hounds for. I'd generally credit Tyr as a sound judge of character more often than not. However, his loyalty will seldom push him against his own ideals, which is perhaps a bit more of a Mule attitude about him. He's a thinker about his loyalty, but, still, once you have it... it's hard to shake him from it. Tyr would be loathe to walk back his loyalty to someone, but if he thinks you're going to only hurt yourself and/or him by sticking around, he... can choose to leave to better serve his ideals. He'll try like hell to get through to you first, but, again, he also rarely has a single bone in him that knows how to quit quietly and meekly. He'll twist himself out of shape and do some incredible things - reckless things, sure - for the people he cares about and won't begrudge them the scars he might earn in his efforts to ensure their happiness and well-being. That part perhaps remains the Mabari in this Tevinter-raised rogue.

Weather: The beginning of a storm - clouds building, the first scents of rain, and thunder rolling in. Fairly common for me when I think of Tyr, admittedly. A type of weather that can involve anticipation or reflection, perhaps a beginning, or perhaps an end. A coming storm is often used as symbolism for troubles or challenges ahead, and sometimes a more optimistic twist is that storms bring change and life-giving water.
