what's one of the most defining traits that deidara and sakura have in common? their Temper.

so when they find out that they're pregnant, they totally freak out. because omg you're a hothead. i'm a hothead. there's no escaping it. this child is going to be a fucking brat! it doesn't help seeing naruto and hinata totally stressed out by their own kid.

they're expecting the worst. deidara always does. his life has been nothing but a downward spiral since the day he was born. yeah, sure he made some bad decisions but that's only bc even when he mad e the right decisions, they end up blowing up in his face. sakura is also expecting the worst. not because she's a pessimist but because she wants to be prepared for it.

they're so anxious about the kid's temperament and they end up being hot n cold n dysfunctional with one another during the pregnancy—fighting one minute, loving the other.

but when the baby is born, she's surprisingly calm? she's not needy. doesn't scream when put in her crib. it only takes 3 days to sleep train her (deidara was not very happy about leaving the baby by herself to sleep). but???? life with the baby is way more peaceful than they ever pictured it to be. when she grows into a toddler, she is surprisingly patient and polite and pleasant ("are we sure we got the right kid from the hospital?" "if not, there must be some other clan with pink hair and hands on their mouths.").

after nine months of anxiety and a lifetime of disappointments, they both find peace.
