I completed my air/storm/cloud elemental family. I'm not so sure about the gradients on either but I wanted to go sunny vs stormy days.
One of my upcoming miniature painting project. I had started the smaller version way back when but one of the antlers broke.
Anyways, can't wait to get to this one!
We finally got a glass cabinet for our miniatures! Looks better, and it's safer, mostly for our resin buddies 😅
We also got a nice spot for Terry the Shark!
I've been away for a while so I figured I'd share some stuff I've been working on.
First one!
My King Slime has been benched for a while because of several crown printing mishaps. I wanted to paint him in the color scheme of the Strain in WildStar.
I think so far it's one of my best paint job!

Serious talk about stormy boy. First, this is stormy boy:
I started painting my air elemental and I wanted it to look like a storm cloud. At first I thought it looked like grapes but I'm really liking my progress so far!
I tried out some new colorshift and metallic paint this weekend. I know they were intended for airbrush use but...... I used a paint brush 🤷
These are all painted over a black base layer (not glossy) in about 3 layers.
The vallejo paints are EXTRA liquid making it hard to use with a brush. Overall I preferred the coverage and texture of the Turbo Dork paints but I'll have to wait for winter to be done so I don't get more paint ruined by the cold during shipping.
This was a fun little project, I should resume normal activities soon.

We're trying to be more disciplined about making pictures of every step of the miniature painting process. Usually we end up only making photos of the finished version.
I spent a few hours photographing some 40something printed but not primed minis in the lightbox.
Figured I'd share here, too. Don't mind the French... 😅
Today was a day. I set up the light box with a cloth backdrop instead of the very glossy basic backdrop and made 167 photos of unpainted miniatures.
We gotta be more consistent about cataloging our work from start to finish...
Might post some of the prints later.
I finished this little guy (well, not so little) a few days back. He marks my one year of painting minis, and honestly, it's hard for me to see the improvements, but I'm told I got much better at it.
This one was one of the first WWTavern to catch my eye, I love the mask and that each elemental has a cute little baby version.
I'm hoping to paint its fellow elementals in 2023 but we'll see how the year goes!

Took this baby out of the house for the first time and of course an ear broke... oh well 🤷
In the process of deciding which bases and basing bits I want for my two latest minis. I have some really cool scrolls and shit but the owl is waaaaay too close to the ground as is.
Another time!

2022 was my first year painting minis, so I made a little collage from January to December.
Not gonna lie, I'm quite happy with what I've done even if progress isn't obvious.
Some awesome minis from Hero Forge, Dice Heads, Mini Monster Mayhem, Cripta Studios, Capsule Chibi, Epics n Stuffs, Archvillain Games... oof that's a range!
I completed this mini from Dice Heads a little while back and figured I'd share it here. It was my first time making washes myself and using paler wash.
I'm overall pretty happy with it!
The blacklight glow was just a happy accident but it looks so cool!
3d printed ttrpg miniatures in the discard bucket should find a new home today!
I bring them to work and people can nab them for the kids to paint or play with. Better than going in the trash.
Gotta love that my partner works on their 3d printing plates on a 50" tv...
(That's an incubus with a cocksleeve like in Persona. Why? Who knows!)
