Yay, more Kid Icarus stuff in Smash Bros. ⊟

Our affection for Kid Icarus: Uprising's multiplayer mode is well-known, chronicled and glamorized by poets, a love story passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Or mentioned on this blog time-to-time during the past two years, whatever.

So, we're pleased as punch to see one of the most fun items from Kid Icarus: Uprising's multiplayer, the Daybreak cannon that blasted away enemies with a juggernaut of a beam, introduced to the new Smash Bros.

"Look at these three radiant pieces... Yup, you guessed it! It's another combinable item like the Dragoon -- the Daybreak. This is what it looks like when all three parts are combined together. How powerful will its beam blast be? FYI, you can fire shooting items while moving backward and forward. Change direction by flicking the Control Stick or Circle Pad toward the back of the fighter."

If Smash Bros.'s battles manage to match Uprising's fun, perhaps the bards will sing of this game's online multiplayer too.

Devil Survivor: OC, Kid Icarus, and Ocarina of Time 3D due sometime after early June

Nintendo of America revealed yesterday that marquee titles Kid Icarus: Uprising and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will ship sometime after "early June" which I'm sure is disappointing for those hoping to pick them up shortly after the 3DS's release, and especially embittering for the delusional folks who expected them to be out on the system's launch day.

It makes sense considering Nintendo has three other major first-party titles that look ready to release sooner -- Nintendogs + Cats, Steel Diver, and Pilotwings Resort. They might not cater to everyone's whims, but that's why the system will be depending on third-party developers to step up. Plus, the company wants to spread out its offerings to prevent long droughts of quality games.

But anyway! Also coming to the U.S. this summer, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overlocked, the 3DS remake of 2009 DS SRPG Devil Survivor with remastered artwork, voice acting, and a special eighth chapter. Atlus provided us with new English cutscene screens:

Yeah, it doesn't look too different from the DS version, but most of you probably didn't play that one! Here's Atlus' story description for Devil Survivor:

"Considered one of the best RPGs of 2009, the original Devil Survivor presented gamers with a novel premise: Tokyo is in full lockdown, the government's swift, coldblooded response to a surprise demon invasion.  While you and your friends must solve the nature of the interdimensional rift through which the horrific creatures are entering your world, saving the world is not your highest priority; staying alive, on the other hand, is."

Booyakasha.
