Here's a weird stylus that you're meant to roll and massage on your face, your wrist, and even your bicep until, before you know it, you've got that piece of plastic in your armpit. It's also so nice that butterflies will swoop down to watch you spell out words on a 3DS.

The Germa Roller TouchPen is similar to this facial roller massager, which boasts healing properties capable of making your skin appear younger. Yeah... The stylus is available in Japan for around ¥1,480 (US$19), and comes in Pink, Black, and Gray -- butterfly not included.

Everything from the Collector's Edition set for Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?, and some new screenshots (click for larger images).

I was a little disappointed that the included stylus is based on Finn's lost golden blade and not his Root Sword, but then I realized that I am a grown-up, and it's time to accept that you can't have everything, and that this is still a lot of sweet stuff for an extra $10.

Instead, let us contemplate why Finn's "loot" is made up of ketchup bottles, salt shakers, eggs, butter pads, and what looks like bags of trail mix.

Damn, you know times is hard when your stylus is a plastic fork wrapped with a napkin. It's the economy, guys. Can't even afford to charge a DS these days; just have to hope whatever reflects on your screens looks like a fun game.

I once wrote an alternative stylus gift guide over at Joystiq/DS Fanboy that I am still embarrassed about.

Hori's Etrian Odyssey IV accessory set includes a green pouch, a leafy plastic shell, and a pen stylus (click for larger images), releasing alongside the 3DS game in Japan this July 5 for ¥2,780, or $34. Dat exchange rate.

Atlus and Hori are trying out something neat with this set, too -- it comes with a QR code, which you can use to download a special quest for Etrian Odyssey IV. Kind of like how our Tiny Cartridge sticker pack also comes with a secret QR code for a nice extra gift, too!

The Gun Stylus Assault Rifle Edition, demonstrated with Operation Neptune Spear on iPad. Though Plow Games developed this for use with iOS devices, it's quite possible this would work with any touchscreen device, including the 3DS, DS, Vita, etc.

This is the absolute most realistic touchscreen gun controller you can find. It perfectly accurately reproduces the action of poking something with a tiny firearm.

3DS Stylus X-Tend pack - Rainbow by ICON. Thanks to this pack, you don't need to worry about the impending obsolescence of your Brain Age 2 stylus set ... which, now that I think about it, became obsolete two hardware revisions ago.

Like similar ICON stylus sets for DS Lite and DSi, the case for these styli also includes slots for nine games. Looking at the pictures, I'm not sure how the slots are adapted for the 3DS carts' extra tabs. I'm reasonably certain it'll work ...

Inazuma Eleven and Ni no Kuni "Professional Touch Pens" by Media Factory. With Ni no Kuni's 12/9 release approaching, the tie-in merch is starting to appear! These ¥567 ($6.82) pens feature retractable stylus points for some reason, but don't have real ballpoint pens. That's probably for the best -- I know someone's going to scribble gameplay notes in that gorgeous Ni no Kuni spellbook, but I don't want to think about it.

Okamiden's U.S. and JP boxarts compared, preorder items revealed. If you reserve this DS follow-up to Okami through GameStop, you'll receive a paintbrush stylus and screen cleaner when it releases this March 15th.

And if you already have enough branded bonuses accumulated from six years of Nintendo DS purchases, you can probably pick it up from Amazon without all that stuff and for a buck or two cheaper.

Capcom is also running a contest in which you can win Okamiden, a Nintendo 3DS (!), Chibiterasu plushies, and more when you try out its Goblin Mask Facebook app.

Crafting Mama DS stylus, a preorder bonus for the upcoming DS game from GameStop. I was going to post this with the joke "if they were really serious about crafting, they'd just pack an instruction sheet and you could make it your damn self," and I was proud of that. Then I showed this to Eric and he noted that you would "need to buy two copies to actually knit with it." Which is clearly so much better!

Anyway, I really want one of these. I totally find the character endearing. She helps you cook food and stuff, and sometimes her eyes are on fire, and her English is not perfect.

Gundam "Touch Pen G" and "Smart Pouch G" accessory sets. You might have seen the styli featured elsewhere before and wondered, "Where am I supposed to keep these bits of plastic so I don't lose them?"

Mori Games has answered that question with two different pouches for both Federation and Zeon factions, each capable of holding a DSi system, an extra standard stylus, two game carts, the RX-78-2’s beam sabre and beam rifle accessories, and more. Now no one can mistake you for a common Mobile Suit geek when they see you playing Gundam Mahjong DS; after seeing this case and all its treasures, they'll have no choice but to bow and hail you as the king of Gundam nerds.

These haven't hit import shops like Play-Asia and NCSX yet, but expect to see them there soon.

Stylus sale at a South Korean shop -- available in white, black, gray, pink, red, orange, light blue, and purple.

A quick break from all the Tokyo Game Show media!

This store, likely in Seoul's Yongsan market, sells the styli for ₩1,000, or around 84 cents. They might seem overpriced, especially considering that these sticks of colored plastic probably cost a few pennies to produce, but it's much better than any deal you'll find at GameStop or most other electronics retailers in the U.S.

In the States, it's difficult to buy just one plain stylus -- they're usually in themed bundles or a mish-mash of accessory junk that no one in their right mind would waste their money on. Looking on GameStop's online catalog, the best "deal" I can find is a three-pack set of black styli, one of which is a bendy "comfort stylus", for $7.99!

Real talk, why can't I just walk into a store, drop a dollar bill, and pick up a damn purple stylus?

Keys Factory's Touch Pen Leash DSi. For some reason, the black version sells for $3.99 at Play-Asia, but the white one costs $5.99. Even at nonsensically unbalanced prices, however, this is a smart item.

It's a stylus that attaches to the DS with a stretchy cord. It doesn't really require that much explanation!

Speculation: the new Nintendo DSi colors and Dragon Quest IX

Two weeks One week after unveiling an exclusive DSi color for North America, one that somewhat resembles the Dragon Quest Slime blue, Nintendo revealed three other exclusive colors for Japan. Right before either of those two announcements, Square Enix delayed Dragon Quest IX.

The original shipping date for DQIX in Japan, March 28th, is very close to the March 20th release for the Pink, Lime Green, and Metallic Blue systems. Could the U.S's Blue DSi originally have been part of a Japanese DQIX bundle?

When Square Enix knocked DQIX back to July, perhaps Nintendo decided to substitute another planned color release, to fill the void left in stores. Maybe they decided to use the blue ones to bolster the US launch rather than leave them in a warehouse. I don't actually know anything, nor do I have much of a well-thought-out theory. I'm just sort of thinking out loud.

In other DQIX/DSi related news, NCSX is taking preorders for a DSi-length version of the delightful Smile Slime stylus set. The blue doesn't look much like the DSi blue in the picture there, but my Slime stylus seems to match better, so it may just be something about the picture. There's also a new transparent blue/Metal Slime set for DS Lites. Both will be available starting July 11th, the new release date for DQIX.
