Preorder Link’s Awakening amiibo, Dreamer Edition ⊟

It isn’t as nice as Europe’s Link’s Awakening bundle, but North America’s $69.99 Dreamer Edition for the Switch remake includes a large art book with the game. You can preorder it now at Amazon, along with the $15.99 amiibo:

Shout-outs to @Wario64 for the heads up! The amiibo (along with all other Legend of Zelda amiibo figures) unlocks special enhancements for the new Chamber Dungeon feature, like a Dark Link that chases your character around.

“As you clear dungeons throughout the main story, earn dungeon rooms (Chambers), then arrange them into custom layouts in the all-new Chamber Dungeon. Place your dungeon entrance, Nightmare room, and everything in between as you try to fulfill objectives and play through a new dungeon. Tap compatible amiibo figures to earn more Chambers and find additional Chambers throughout the game in updated mini-games, such as the river rapids, trendy game, and fishing.“

If you haven’t seen it yet, Nintendo’s Treehouse team also played the game and showed off the Chamber Dungeon feature at E3 for a half-hour. They confirmed that the Color Dungeon from the DX version is in! Link’s Awakening releases for Switch on September 20.

Cadence of Hyrule is a rhythm roguelink with playable Zelda ⊟

And Link, too! This unexpected Switch title adds the characters, enemies, music, and setting from Nintendo's flagship series to Brace Yourself Games’ rhythm action-adventure title Crypt of the Necrodancer. We’ve seen big franchises like Monster Hunter and Dynasty Warriors incorporate Zelda elements before, but it’s dope to see smaller devs get a shot to work with Nintendo’s IP in such a big way.

Quick synopsis:

“As Link or Princess Zelda, players explore randomly generated overworld and dungeons on a quest to save Hyrule, and every beat of the 25 remixed Legend of Zelda tunes is a chance to move, attack, defend and more. From modern-looking Lynels to the Hyrulean Soldiers of old, players must master the instinctive movements of each pixel-art enemy and strategically outstep them in rhythmic combat using an arsenal of iconic items from The Legend of Zelda, as well as the spells and weapons from Crypt of the NecroDancer.”

Cadence of Hyrule – Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda releases for Switch this spring.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening GB/GBC compared with Switch remake ⊟

Okay, this looks amazing. Also, I am just now realizing that is a fox and not an orange dog. 🤯 The remake will release for Switch later this year.

Shout-outs to Mobygames, Gamepedia, Zelda Dungeon, and Press the Buttons for the older Link’s Awakening screenshots.

Breath of the Wild “Making of” video tomorrow ⊟

At 6AM Pacific, in three parts, Nintendo will release this feature about the making of this fricking enormous game. I hope they explain creative decisions like why everyone is so hot for Link, who is basically 120 years old, and why everyone in the Yiga Clan is a doofus.

In the meantime, you can watch the development team’s recorded presentation from the Game Developers Conference two weeks ago here:

Give us all the Breath of the Wild development content, please.

Link will have a Breath of the Wild nendoroid ⊟

My reflex when hearing this announced was to be annoyed that Good Smile was cashing in on the new Zelda game by rushing out yet another Link nendoroid, but it is difficult to hold onto that discontent with cute figures. Plus Link’s outfit is different enough with this variation, he has hella accessories, and the set has a deluxe version that includes a horse your other nendoroids can also ride (I’m gonna throw Shiren on top of there)!

“This DX Edition is a special version that comes with additional parts to help you recreate even more scenes from the game! He comes with two face plates including a smiling face as well as a shouting expression for combat scenes. Optional parts include a large selection of items including his bow and arrow, quiver, sword, sheath and shield allowing you to recreate various situations in Nendoroid size! The Sheikah Slate that appears in-game is also included. The DX Edition also comes with an axe, club, chicken leg as well as his hood and even a horse for Link to ride on – a huge selection of parts to bring out the atmosphere of the game in your collection!”

Good Smile will announcing pricing and begin taking preorders tomorrow.

Don’t even care if Breath of the Wild is Switch’s only big launch title because this looks dope af ⊟

I am fine with sliding around sand like I’m on some fuckin’ heelys, riding horses through windy fields, and battling with bird warrior dudes for a month or two until something else comes out. I might take a break and play a few rounds of Super Bomberman R online, too, so I’ll be good.

This trailer is good:

We’ll let you know when the $130 special edition and Switch preorders go up on Amazon, but you can already preorder the Wii U version below!

More Zelda amiibo and an artbook coming ⊟

The 8-bit, Ocarina of Time, and Wind Waker amiibo will release this holiday season. They will work as standard Link and Zelda amiibo, but the figures will also have special functionality with the upcoming Breath of Wild game.

As for The Legend of Zelda: Art and Artifacts, while the 400+ page artbook isn’t coming out until February 2017, it’s already up for preorder ($23.99).

The coolest part from today’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild stream ⊟

If you didn’t have all afternoon to spend watching Nintendo’s Treehouse E3 livestream, you missed a lot of fun moments -- like shirtless Link shivering in a frozen tundra, shield surfing down snowy mountains, a Shadow of the Colossus-esque mini-boss battle, or any minute of Chiko’s entertaining romp through the Great Plateau region, devastating the local Bokoblin populace.

What you don’t have to miss, though, was this rad sequence of Link taking down a Guardian. So dope. Breath of the Wild hits Wii U and NX in 2017!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo ⊟

Yooooo!

“Nintendo announced a new series of amiibo figures specific to the game that includes Link with a bow (“Archer”), Link on horseback (“Rider”), and a “Guardian” that is the first amiibo with flexible parts. The existing Wolf Link amiibo works with the game as well: When players tap a Wolf Link amiibo to the Wii U GamePad controller, Wolf Link will attack enemies on his own and help players to hunt. He has three hearts, unless players carry over save data from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Wolf Link disappears when his hearts run out.”

Shout-outs to Nick Robinson, aka ya boy Babylonian, aka the Steph Curry of E3, for the promotional shot!.
