Two-player simultaneous play, with various unlockable characters like Sue and Toroko (and a fun costume for Curly in the GIF above)! Plus, Nicalis went ahead and added a new version of the soundtrack, by Ridiculon.
The last Blade Strangers video I put up featured Curly, but I was disappointed that the Cave Story character didn’t actually use her machine gun in the E3 build. Nicalis put up a new clip for the Switch/PS4/PS1/PC fighting game, though, and here we have Curly letting the AK spray on Umihara Kawase:
In related news, Nicalis is teasing an update that adds Cave Story’s original graphics to the Switch release (a number of people have complained that Cave Story+ only uses the graphics from the WiiWare port). A patch is also planned to hit late summer with local multiplayer co-op support.
