QL of All Time - Round 1: Great Men Academy (2019) vs A Flower for Three Lifetimes (2023)
Community character’s favorite bl show
Abed - Theory of Love
He would appreciate all the movie references and Khai would remind him of S1 Troy
Troy - History3 Make Our Days Count
Haoting kinnie for sure. Abed doesn’t let him watch episode 10
Annie - Bad Buddy
It’s definitely because she loves forbidden romance and not because inkpa awakens anything in her
Jeff - A Tale of Thousand Stars
Hear me out. If him crying at Trobedison’s puppet show proved anything it’s that he’s a softie at heart. And I think he would relate to Tian’s journey of becoming less of a dick
Britta - Not Me
Her activist would love this and she’s a total BlackTodd truther
Shirley - History3 Trapped
Almost did M*** M* A**** for obvious reasons but she also loves crime shows so this would be right up her alley
Pierce - Fish Upon The Sky
It was revealed to me in a dream
Dean Pelton - Great Men Academy
If there’s one thing he would appreciate it’s a genderswapped person pursuing someone who is not interested
Chang - YYY
That show is what I imagine it’s like it Chang’s brain. He’d understand it in a way we never will
Vier is Aroace. That’s why he’s so resistant to the idea of anyone being attracted to him. And it makes him feel insecure and angry and like less of a man because he can’t connect with someone in that way.
Sorta replying to tags sorta just talkin: I don’t get why everyone hates Vier so much. He’s just an insecure teenage boy. And tangmo’s outing want even mostly on him. He just told a reporter where tangmo was. he didn’t suggest that she sneak around and secretly film two teenagers kissing and then release it to the world. Not to mention Vier’s immediate regret and trying to find the reporter to stop her. I’ve decided to die on this hill.
My Official QL Drama Rankings
On a scale of -5 to 5. Will be updated when I finish watching a new show. Any explanations will be done in separate posts.

Fuck it, Great Men Academy rewatch
Bl year in review (in order watched)

1. History3 trapped - 9/10
A spectacular intro to the genre for me. Gripping storyline, enemies to lovers, great acting. My only reason for docking a point is because of cops.
2. History3 make our days count - 7/10
If it hasn’t been for the ending, this would have been a 9/10 for me. Hao ting and xi gu were the sweetest couple and I loved hao ting’s growth. He’s one of my fav protagonists ever. But that ending was awful. And I didn’t like the side couple. High schoolers should not be dating adults. Apparently there’s a sequel coming, I’m not really sure what to expect from it considering half the couple is dead. And I’d still strongly recommend it despite the ending. Maybe just don’t watch the last episode
3. SOTUS - 6/10
It’s one of the first big BLs, and I respect that, and I like kongarthit but I did find many of the hazing scenes very triggering which made it very hard to get through. It’s also a very slow burn which isn’t really my thing. I also think the many side characters and storylines weren’t handled very well. Overall I’d say it’s just ok.
4. He’s coming to me - 10/10
Amazing. Show stopping. Spectacular. Made me cry. Phenomenal acting (the rooftop scene!!!) Severly underrated. Watch it immediately.
5. Until we meet again - 7/10
Liked the concept but not much the execution. I didn’t really get into it until the last few episodes, the rest just felt really slow to me
6. Because of you - 5/10
It’s alright. I think it was a mistake to try and shove three couples into ten 10 minute episodes. I think it really would have benefitted from a longer run time
7. Why r u? - ?/10
Honestly every time I watched this I immediately forgot what happened so I don’t really know what to say.
8. 2gether - 10/10
I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone that this one is my favorite. It was so sweet and so fun to watch. One of favorite shows to project my trauma on to. Loved all the relationships: romantic, platonic, and familial. Truly iconic.
9. Great men academy - 8/10
Not exactly a bl but I’m gonna include it anyways. Very good show that discusses concepts of masculinity and sexuality in a very respectful way. All the characters are very well developed and the show is not ashamed to be absolutely insane. The principal is a statue and they prove who’s best by ghost hunting. I love it and would def recommend.
10. Tharntype - negative infinity/10
You don’t wanna be like this. This is disgusting. This is awful in every way. If I could kill it, I would. But I legally can’t. But I’ve considered it. I have a visceral reaction everytime someone mentions it. Stop romanticizing rape and abuse. What is wrong with you.
11. Theory of love - 9/10
As someone who watches an obsessive amount of media, I really connected with seeing people bond over there love of movies. I also loved how the story flipped from third pining over khai to the other way around. Like, the Drama(Tm). I also loved watching khai grow and make up for his poor behavior (I’m a slut for redemption arcs) and I appreciated that the obligatory straight couple did not end up together.
12. My engineer - 6/10
Good fun, nice couples, but nothing very special about it.
13. Where you eyes linger - 5/10
I know a lot of people really liked this one, and it’s not bad, but it just didn’t strike a chord with me personally.
14. Love by chance 1/10
I found this one very boring, and there’s consent issues, but what else can you expect from mame. Would not recommend
