So far we've estabilised that: - Castiel does not care about sexual orientation - GOD IS BI - 2 rugged manly hunters can also be in a loving relationship and it doesn't make them any less manly, rugged or able to hunt and Dean knows it. Let's also not forget the 2 rugged manly lumberjacks in a bar in season 8. They are keen to make this point. - Dean has not taken any interest whatsoever in anyone for years excepting when using them as a crux to get over losing Castiel in one way or another - just, the whole of season 8... (Dean is in love and feels unrequited, buries it deep and keeps it there) and seasons 9-12 (Cas is in love but doesn't know how to deal with it or really understand it to begin with anyway) - there is no need to go over the eons of meta showing how these two idjits care about each other - um, like the whole of 12x09 pointing that this has to come to a crux soon (Cas is in love and it's tearing him apart) Coming up: - Episode 12x10 : surely the whole point of this episode is to show how much Castiel has changed since meeting Dean and falling "for humanity" - multiple episodes about Castiel, depression and belonging (because yeah, it would seem fitting in as a brother just isn't cutting it) - Mary's return and her impact on both boys, as a nurturer for Sammy and his mental health, and for Dean, I'm remembering that line from 11x12: Jody "relationships and boyfriends, things a mum would teach you" Dean "Sammy and I could have benefited from a little of that" It's so close it's freaking palpable. Things were pretty good but since season 11 they just stepped this whole thing up a notch. I say roll on Castiel's 100th episode!
