Okay, this is the only ask I will personally apologize to for taking so long to answer because it’s so diabolically funny.

I think I got this ask sometime in June, when I was babysitting my insane grandmother. As much as I desperately wanted to draw for it immediately, I didn’t want to risk my extremely nosy grandmother snooping through my sketchbook doodles (I brainstorm traditionally). Unfortunately, this meant I forgot about it under the mountain of my other cute and cool asks. What a shame.

Well, at least I finally answered it on Halloween of all days.

Ahh, this is a lot of fun. I just had to answer this one right away. Let’s see.

Warning: this is a very long post. If you don’t know anything about Glee, it might not make sense. I didn’t include every single X-Men, as I can’t really imagine what they’d sound like. If you come in here and say, “where’s (blank),” I will put thumbtacks in your shoes.

If you have your own ideas, I’d love to hear them.

I feel like this goes without saying, but this is only focusing on the voices and performances, not the characters themselves. There would be some crazy comparisons, if that were the case.

Ah, it’s okay. I would never be upset about reblog spam. It makes me very happy to see repeat offenders in my notes, as it means they enjoy my silly little doodles.

Here’s a Lego Gambit, which I offer unto the masses as an apology. I haven’t been able to keep up with things I would like to (stickers, asks, etc.)… I’ve been very busy. A completely out of nowhere decision has landed me back in college, and man… it’s been a doozy. This year has been very crazy. To all of my fellow college students, we can do it. Gambit is cheering us on from the sidelines.

Ahhh, I finally found this ask again.

I think it would be during a villain attack. Scott would just so happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, forcing him to use his optic blasts to protect bystanders. The F4 would obviously notice this when they show up;

So, Scott and the F4 have an impromptu team up. They neutralize the threat together, and before Scott can slip away, Reed manages to track him down. It becomes quickly apparent that Scott is homeless and has no control over his power. Reed becomes extremely worried.

I don’t think the F4 would take in Scott for his optic blasts. Obviously, Reed wants to figure out how they work so he can help Scott, but they mostly just want to give him a home above anything else. They leave it up to Scott if he wants to join their team or not. By the time Xavier tracks him down, he would be a rookie member of the F4.

This is a very fun idea. You know that joke about getting adopted by One Direction? That’s this universe.

Ah, I’m going to be honest, I was originally going to ignore this ask because I was afraid of people being weird about my choices, but you know what? I think you guys are very nice and respectful. So why not?

I divide my ships into 3 categories;

1. Actually romantic: Robin and Raven (TT cartoon), Artemis and Wally, Artemis and Zatanna, Artemis and Dick, Roy and Kaldur, Dick and Kori, Scott and Rogue (Evo), Tim and Tam, Tim and Zachary (thanks to a friend of mine for opening my eyes on this one), Barbara and Dinah, Peter and Chat, Kitty and Illyana.

Weird unexplainable middle ground/they’d get married and have kids but still be friends somehow/they kind of remind me of pet cats living in the same house/queerplatonic(?): Remy and Rogue, Steve and Bucky, Natasha and Bucky, Dick and Zatanna, Impulse and Jaime, Trinity Trio, Gwen and Miles, Raven and Starfire (TT cartoon), Tim and Kon, Storm and Jean, Bruce and Harvey, Bruce and Ethan (The Batman 2004), Bruce and Selena, Clark and Lois, Peter and Felicia, Wanda and Kurt.

3. Some of these might not make sense to you, and that’s okay. They barely make sense to me, either. If you guys ever see me do fan art of characters doing things together and you want to tag it as a ship, you are totally allowed to do so regardless if the ship is on my list or not.

Thank you very much. You guys’ rare pairs are very cute. On that topic, shipping in general is a very interesting thing for me. I’m not a big shipper, but I think I attach myself to character dynamics like a shipper would.

(Not one of the crazy ones, though. I can’t believe people are still attacking other people over fictional characters in the year of our lord 2024. I thought we’ve been over this, y’all...)

I think this what makes me have a soft spot for rare pairs. I get tired hearing about the same ships over and over again, so it’s refreshing to see something new. It also helps that I have my own rare pairs, even if I don’t romantically ship a lot of them (is it even possible to ship things in a non-romantic way? I don’t know, I’m new to this).

All in all, rare pairs are just generally safer to talk about in this day and age. It feels like you’re putting less of a target on your back for the crazy people. If it’s too niche of a dynamic for people to find, they can’t actively hunt you down. Street smarts.

I’ve considered posting to Twitter before, but I’m just not sure if that’s a good idea. The crowd over there is very interesting. I don’t really want to get involved with that. Though it would probably do me good to expand my reach, and possibly even combat art reposting. If anyone has any tips on surviving Twitter, let me know.

Yesssssss… yesssssssss… the Evolution cult grows with each day.

I’m so glad I could be your introduction to it. It’s a very good, and I could honestly sit here and talk for ages about it. I love when shows based on comic books aren’t a perfect one-to-one recreation of the comics.

Ah, this Wolverine is my favorite Wolverine. Having him be one of the adults was a good decision. I hate it when he’s being weird about Jean and Scott. And this Gambit is such a gigachad. They had to give him a bowlcut to cap his raw power. It would be too much for us.

In terms of writing, Lance is definitely a favorite of mine. I think he compliments Scott very well, with how they’re both leaders and basically the team older brothers. It makes me wonder if there’s a universe out there where Xavier found Lance first, leaving Scott to fall into the hands of Mystique. Maybe we’d see a version of Lance who was given an actual chance (heh, rhymed), and a version of Evo Scott who never was.

I said in an Instagram comment that this version of Scott is a more hopeful Scott, so it would be interesting to see how he would fit in with the Brotherhood. And on the flip side, I think it would be interesting to see Lance slowly become the hero he truly is at heart. He would obviously be very stubborn about it, as he’s more cynical than Scott is, but as more mutants move into the Institute, I think it’ll only be a matter of time before the big brother instincts activate.

If you’re familiar with the YJ cartoon, one of my favorite aspects of that show is when you would get glimpses of each team member’s school lives. So the fact that Evolution pretty much makes that the main focus is really fun. Weirdo kids trying to navigate normal teenage life is so spiritually healing.

Another thing that I liked about Evolution was the emphasis on training. Not only did you get to see Danger Room simulations, but you also got to see things like rescue scenarios, too. It reminds you that these are kids training to be actual heroes, not just fighters. Of course they should know how to rescue active drowning victims or unconscious people from cliff-sides. And I also find it really interesting that they seem to do these exercises before school starts. They must wake up really early.

Also, as a little side piece, I loved whenever the kids would use their mutations in domestic ways. What immediately comes to mind is when everyone was at the doorway to leave for school, one of the girls said she still needed to blow dry her hair, and Berzerker ended up using his electricity to power the blow dryer while they left. It’s such a small scene, but it made me chuckle and also makes the world feel more alive. If teenagers had superpowers, they’d 100% do stuff like that.

I am not so familiar with modern interpretations of Wanda (other than the MCU version, which I quite like). I hear she was done dirty in modern X-Men comics, but I’m not entirely sure on that, so (politely) fact-check me if you desire. I would love to familiarize myself with her more, as we share a similar ethnic background. Please drop some Wanda comic recommendations.

I didn’t enjoy Wolverine and the X-Men very much, but I did walk away with an appreciation of Kurt and Wanda’s dynamic. I think they’re quite cute together. Wanda seems to have a type for bizarre looking men.

Carol Danvers… Kara Danvers… I almost drew the wrong space blonde.

It was a good adventure, but that being said, it left me feeling like this when I finally returned home;

For those who don’t know, I went on a scuba trip for 3 weeks. I saw a lot of cool things and almost completely lost my sanity. I’m glad to be home for my cat and a real shower (boat life is brutal). There may be some scuba-related doodles coming up, but we’ll see. I’ll have to heal from the traumatic experience of leaving my house first. Thank you for checking in.

Thank you for liking my art. Very sorry for the absence. It’s going to take a bit for me to regain my footing with art, as I barely drew the entire time. Though I did a couple sketches of Bucky Barnes on the boat. I rewatched Captain America Civil War before I went on my flight;

Art will be a slow go right now. This is my first digital sketch since coming back, and… well, it could be worse. I get a bit panicked whenever I’m forced to not draw for a while. I feel like I’ll lose progress in my art evolution. I remember drawing with a cast on my dominant hand because I refused to let a broken arm get in the way of everything. Tough times.

Hello, thank you very much for the check-in. I also hope your day has been good, and that you’re taking care of yourself. Personally, I’ve been very busy preparing for my upcoming trip, but I’ve been getting my doodles down here and there. It makes me so happy to know that people like my goobers. It helps me try and get over my mental hurdles of finally doing a comic. Here’s a little teaser of what I want to do;

I have been a big fan of comics as a medium the moment I learned how to read. Specifically, comic strips like Calvin and Hobbes (I think my goobers really reflect that Watterson inspires me every time I pick up a pencil… I couldn’t hide it if I tried). I would always draw comics as a kid, and in retrospect, the transition into superhero comics was practically a given. So, let’s hope I finally get something out there. No promises, though. It’s a 50/50.

I hope this idea interests you guys. I’m not sure how posting this comic will work, but I’ll figure it out. I don’t want to make this post too long, so I’ll finish it off by again hoping you’re doing well. Thank you for all your support. Have a good day. Or else.
