Things are bleak and I'm sure many of us, U.S. and non-U.S. MTHers alike, are struggling to wrap our heads around what happened with the U.S. election. We're going to try our best to string together our thoughts soon, but for now, we know some people want to fuel their anger and despair into donating to charities doing good and necessary work so if you're one of them, we'll happily and gratefully include your donation in our total. DONATION DEADLINE REMINDER

We’re well on our way to wrapping up the auction and matching winners with their creators; we’ll be announcing the total amount raised after all the donations are tallied up and everyone has been matched.

If you didn’t win an auction but would like to donate to any of our 30 amazing organizations anyway, we welcome donations made “just because” and will happily count them in our final total. Simply send your donation receipt to [email protected] by November 4, 11:59 PM ET, and we’ll include them! All we need is a screenshot, PDF, or email showing the name of the organization, date, and amount you donated; personal information (i.e., name, address, credit card/bank account number) can be redacted. We count donation matching in our total, so if your workplace matches your donations or you donate to a charity that's currently running a donation campaign, let us know when you send in your receipt.

This is also a reminder to first-place winners who haven’t sent in their proof of donation yet that the deadline to do so is November 2, 11:59 PM ET (what time is that for me?). For second-place winners, the deadline is Monday, November 4, 11:59 PM ET (what time is that for me?). If we don’t hear from you by then, your win will be void, and if you’re a first-place winner, the auction will be offered to the next highest bidder.

Please follow the instructions in the auction winner email we sent to the email address that you bid under. If you don’t see the email in your inbox or spam folder, contact us immediately by emailing [email protected], sending us a DM on Tumblr or Twitter, or pinging a server mod (@mod) on our Discord server. We strongly urge everyone to honor their winning bids, but if for some reason you can’t follow through, please let us know as soon as you can by emailing [email protected].

If you’re having trouble deciding on which amazing organization to donate to, Waterkeeper Alliance, Amputee Coalition, Electronic Frontier Foundation, and Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) currently have less than $50 in donations so far, and The Pad Project, Good Food Institute, Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund, and Global Fund for Women have less than $150. Clean Air Task Force, International Association for Suicide Prevention, and World Literacy Foundation have less than $300, and Transgender Law Center, and Autistic Self-Advocacy Network, and Undue Medical Debt have less than $400. We encourage you to give these 14 organizations some love! They each support some very worthy causes. The Marvel Trumps Hate 2024 Auction is Over! Now What?

Everyone, thank you so much for your bids and your help in making this auction a success. We couldn’t have done this without you! Now that we've wrapped up the auction, here’s what will happen:

1) Emails will be going out to winners as soon as possible, with instructions on how to submit your donation. As there were so many enthusiastic last-minute bids, our web server needs a little while to recover and there may be a delay. Please give it some time! If you believe you're a winning bidder and don't see the win notification email in your inbox or spam folder after 48 hours, please email [email protected] so that we can send another copy to you. If you receive an email and you’re someone’s proxy bidder, please forward the email to the bidder you’re representing and CC us so that we know who to contact henceforth about the auction. We encourage you to check your email inbox over the next four days even if you don't think you won. Some creators take on more than one winner, and you might get lucky if you had the second highest bid!

Please do not contact your creator or make your donation before you receive the email confirming your win. We also ask that you refrain from asking creators if they're taking on a second winner for their auction(s); not everyone is eligible to do so and not everyone is able or comfortable even if they are, so we don't want creators to feel awkward or pressured.

2) Once you get that win confirmation, you have until 11:59 PM ET on Saturday, November 2 (what time is that for me?) to respond with your proof of donation. Please follow the directions in the email sent to you. Check out our Donation Guide and Bidders FAQ if you’re still unsure about how to donate. If you don’t respond to our email before the donation deadline, we’ll move on to the next highest bidder and your bid will be made void.

3) Once we receive proof of donation, we MTH mods will put the winning bidder and their respective creator in contact with each other via email. It may take 1–3 days to get the connection email due to the volume of emails we handle. You don’t need to reply to this email when it comes or CC the mods in any correspondence between yourselves after this point. This is the first point at which creators are involved.

Creators, remember that your bidder has until our donation deadline of November 2 at 11:59 PM ET to donate. We’ll only be matching creators and winners after proof of donation has been received, so please be patient and wait for the connection email.
