griffin laughing so hard he has to lean on his older brother: a series
He killed them
Friendly reminder that Travis goddamned Mcelroy was so consistent with Magnus and his development in regards to stolen century and post stolen century, (despite it being told out of order and the latter being revealed literally 6/7ths of the story in) that you can tell exactly how he develops from a cocky selfish kid into someone who was so willing to put his life on his line for others that it was a borderline problem into someone who has a healthy mix of both, and it doesn’t ever feel jarring or out of character, and THAT MAN is now in charge of our new campaign and, personally, I can’t wait to see how it goes
A sweet message from everyone’s middlest brother
Travis McElroy bought some high heels recently and has been posting about them on all of his social media. Here’s a thank you he posted on Twitter (June 29, 2019)
[id: four tweets from Travis McElroy that say:
I think it’s worth saying that while I’m really glad y’all like my new boots, I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing them (let alone showing them publicly!) if it weren’t for all the people long before me who have pushed the boundaries of traditional gender norms.
Long story short, a lot of people have fought a lot harder than me before now so that I can feel just a little more comfortable expressing myself. I stand in the shadow of giants and am so grateful to them.
Even though I don’t belong in the LGBTQIA+ community, I have spent this Pride month reflecting on the fact that them fighting for their rights and right to simply be who they are has given everyone more room to be themselves. I am forever grateful.
Thank you for those who fight, march, stand up or simply exist. I know you didn’t do it for me, but I owe you so much and will always support you and return the favor whenever I can.]
(Also, if anyone’s wondering, these are the boots in question)
Travis McElroy is an Absolute Treasure
So over the weekend I went to NYCC and I got to see Travis McElroy on a panel discussing the upcoming TAZ graphic novel.
While discussing how D&D changed everyone’s lives, Travis brought up the fact that the game can also be a good source of therapy. When the panel host seemed skeptical, Travis explained.
It turns out that when Travis’ baby was born, there were complications with the birth. There had to be an emergency c-section, and there was a moment when they thought that they would lose the baby (and also possibly Teresa herself). And he fully admitted that it was so traumatic for him that he suffered a lot from PTSD afterwards. And what helped him was roleplaying, and getting back into character as Magnus.
Because to him, Magnus was an openly emotional man, who was willing to cry and be afraid. And roleplaying someone like that significantly helped Travis face his demons and help him through his traumas. And he said he continues doing it, and admitted that playing Aubrey has helped him through tough times too.
Anyway, after hearing this Travis has now cemented himself as my favorite McElroy. He’s just such a kind and openly emotional man that I really respect him for being that way.
Here’s to you, Travis. Thanks for being so awesome!
aes: the mcelroy brothers
“i’m going to wake up and keep trying to do good and so are you and nobody gets to vote on that.”
This was too much of a gem not to capture
Travis McElroy is a suspiciously suprisingly wholesome person for someone who is the devastating combination of a Scorpio, slytherein, and theatre major
Travis Mcelroy is the brightest part of my day
I’m rewatching the Rancho episode and when Griffin says “One time I saw a video of a rancho molt its skin and my eyes went to hell” Travis’ expression just fuckin DROPS and I’m losing my shit
