Chichikogusa is a manga about a young, single father who is a traveling medicine salesman in the Edo period of Japan. The genre is Slice of Life, and it’s such a beautiful story with very little recognition.
I’ve done a lot of anime lists on this blog, but figured it was time to shoutout some of my favorite Manga that I’ve completed!
** = has an anime adaptation
1. Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi)**
A riveting murder mystery/thriller with supernatural elements.
2. A Silent Voice/The Shape of Voice (Koe no Katachi)**
A really beautiful story about bullying, redemption, and healing. One of the protagonists is a Deaf girl who signs! Also: suicide tw
3. Something About Us/Our Relationship Is (우리사이느은)
Technically not manga (it’s a manhwa and a webcomic), but this story is a really cute contemporary romance and I couldn’t help but include it.
4. Orange**
A story about friendship, and what a group of friends would do to save someone they love. Also: suicide tw
5. I Hear the Sunspot (Hidamari ga Kikoeru)
A very cute romance about two college students, one of whom is grappling with losing his hearing and the other who is his note taker in class.
