Their relationship really is an interesting aspect of canon, and it has so much potential, which I do hope that Tabata utilizes to its full potential. And I do think that, that will happen, because given how much effort he puts into foreshadowing, I think there's too much in there to just... not do anything with it.

Plus, since Tabs has indicated that he intends to make BC a looooong series, there's definitely time for it. Perhaps even right after the current arc ends, and the aftermath of the battle begins.

But I'm overjoyed to hear that you like my writing and deem my characterizations to hit the mark by doing justice to these wonderful, complex characters 💖 So, thank you for the thank you!

I can honestly say that I don't remember 😅 I do remember the amazement of having such a young person as Rill as a captain, since compared to everyone else, Rill is really young at the age of 19. But this can be (and most likely is) my memory playing tricks on me. Plus, I largely watched the anime, and only began reading the manga after the anime finished, and we all know that the anime can be misleading (and has been, at times, with the 'anime only' things).

It also can be that it's been stated that "Acier was the captain before Nozel", which in itself doesn't necessarily mean that Acier was the last captain *before* Nozel. For example, it could be that ... Papa Silva took charge for the time being, or something. That we don't know. (Or if someone does, please tell).

All I'm saying is that it's possible, but I'm not a Nozel expert (despite all the talk on this blog about Nozel). One thing that comes to mind is that the squad could technically have been without a captain for some time (though 2 years seems a very, very long time to be without a captain).

But it's largely guess work and theorizing until/if ever, we're told things in canon.

However, I think we can all agree that it's not easy being Nozel. Or Silva, for that matter.
