An ode to Sumatran food (specifically Palembang, Jambi, and Padang). Oh, it was spicy. Oh, I was in love. (Until that last one on the green plate, which is a story unto itself). Everyone was tickled that I thought the fermented durian fish was quite lovely. Rendang, oh, rendang. I was being plied with food on all sides, and was pretty happy about it.
