Would you keep me in your closet?
When they tell you that we're the murderers of Christ, blasphemous heretics, who poison the wells and eat christian babies, would you still keep me in your closet?
When they tell you we're of an infirior race, that our presence destroys culture, that we backstabbed your country, that having kids with us will leave them with the same flaws, that we are inherently and unchanginly evil, and that killing us is a mercy, would you still keep me in your closet?
When they tell you we're overlords of a secret society, secret cosmopolitiains of the deep state, controlling the media and the economy for our benefit, leaching on the work of good, hard working people, would you still keep me in your closet?
When they tell you we're white supremacists, fanatic nationals, colonizers, explotators, slave owners, oppressors, occupiers, starving, ethnically cleansing, genociding, harvesting organs off of Arab children...
Today, when they knock on your door and ask politely if you happen to hide me in your house or basement, whatever they may call me, whatever excuse they came with
Would you keep me safe in your closet?
This is my first post to cross the 1000 note threshold
I couldn't choose a better one.
This post isn't some poem I wrote and rewrote, or a passionate speech, or a quote, or anything else.
I wrote it, on my phone, in my bed, after it circled around my mind for hours, not letting me sleep. I wanted to take someone out of one of them protests and just put my hand on their shoulder and ask them.
Since it was written, dozens of you answered affirmatively. I thank each and every one of you. when you prove your humanity, a tiny piece of me called hope takes a short rest, and sighs a sigh of relief, as you show it that there is some good in this world, and that it's worth fighting for.

A manatee rescue that I follow responded to a call about a female manatee with two calves because one of her babies had been injured by a boat strike. The entire family was temporarily relocated from the wild into a wildlife rehab facility for the injured male calf to undergo treatment. While there, vets noted the female calf was significantly larger than the little injured male. They did genetic testing and determined that big sister calf actually wasn’t related to the other two manatees at all! She was in fact an orphan calf that the adult manatee had found and taken in to care for right alongside her own little one.
Wild to think this manatee calf was literally adopted and nobody would have ever known if it weren’t for random coincidence and human curiosity. Every animal that you cross paths with in life has a fascinating personal story that you’ll only ever catch a glimpse of (if you’re lucky).

said this in a comment but as a non ashki jew, the way y’all (gentiles) talk abt ashkenazi jews is really fucking weird. you’re not being a savior to non ashkenazi jews or to black and brown jews (some of whom are ashkenazi) by painting ashkenazi jews as this nefarious group of elites plotting against everyone. the antisemitism doesn’t cancel out just because you’re targeting the group you perceive to be the “white ones.”
there is a brand of antisemitism rising in the west that specifically targets ashkenazi jews. and they specify. they use the word "ashkenazi" or "white" because that is how they racialize us. ashkenazi jews are not only specifically targeted, but we are specifically at risk, because we live among these goyim in the west.
As you can see a lot of the ashkenazi specific antisemitism is rooted in trying to deny Ashkenazi indigineity to the levant, so that they can characterize Israel as Ashkenazi and this de-legitimizes ALL Jews.
They are taking terms that we use to describe our exile and our subcultures and using them against all of us.
I know that Ashkenoramitivty is a problem, and in Israel there is a history of Ashkenazis dominating society at the cost of others.
But under the current circumstances we need to SPECIFICALLY speak up in defence of Ashkenazi Jews and their indigineity because it is being targeted. And this targeting doesn't just harm Ashkenazi Jews, it harms all Jews.
it’s been over a year and i’m still sick of the way ppl go full on nazi when talking abt ashkenazi jews bc they think calling them white cancels out the fucking acting like a nazi part.
Chronic pain pisses me off cause I'm not even incapacitated for like a cool or badass reason instead my body is throwing the world's biggest temper tantrum because it's raining outside
