Where my multi-fandom/multi-bias kpop obsessions live. 40% VIXX, 40% SHINee, 20% whatever my heart desires. Sometimes I GIF 💕

are you even a ravi stan anymore?

Ah, I’ve been expecting this question. OF COURSE I AM!!! ^^I know I’ve been posting more Hyuk recently but it doesn’t mean I’ve stopped loving Ravi. I still post a lot of Ravi and make Ravi gifs when I can. It’s been challenging, actually virtually impossible, to make gifs lately at work and by the time I get home most of the of the Ravi gifs I’d like to make have are already been made. So I very happily make Hyuk gifs. I feel the need to also explain something. Recently I had a dramatic medical scare, thankfully after a lot of tests everything came back normal and my diagnosis got better but during that time, especially the scariest moment, I clung onto Hyuk for some reason. Okay it was his extremely cute, comforting smiles that I clung on to, They calmed me down dramatically and since then I’ve been more attached to him. In some way I feel like me making more gifs of Hyuk is my way of thanking him for being there for me during the scariest medical experience of my life.So no, I haven’t stopped stanning Ravi, I’ve just started to stan Hyuk more than I use to, thus the increase in Hyuk posts. I’ve always stanned Hyuk just not as much as I do now. Many biases have come and gone but none has toppled Ravi as my ultimate bias.

This is not about VIXX and Starlights. This is about Jellyfish trying to push VIXX into getting public recognition and doing it wrong. Just like last time where we literally had to skin ourselves to increase views, votes and points so that we could give VIXX some wins because the song was not doing good on the charts. And even though we did manage to get 5 wins, the boys apologized on VIXX TV because they knew what was going on. I dont want this to happen again

What you are delving into here without straight-out sayingit in your message is marketing strategy and I’m going to be 100% honest right hereright now. The fact that fans walked away from Dynamite because it wasn’t adark concept is more to blame for it not charting well than Jellyfish’smarketing strategy. Love a song for the song and not what you think theirconcept should be. Dynamite is an amazing song that many fans failed to give the love it deservedbecause it didn’t fit their perceived idea of who VIXX is. VIXX is many things, being dark is just one of those many things. It’s sad that some people couldn’tlook beyond a concept and love a song, which is how you get it on the charts inthe first place. Music can chart very well without a MV, but it cannot chart ifpeople aren’t streaming the song. If Jellyfish was only aiming at bringing in more fans then every song theypromoted would be akin to Love Equation since that is their most popular songto date. You are pointing to Jellyfish’s marketing strategy without looking atthe larger picture. They took that into consideration and opted to not to gothat route. They decided to stay true to VIXX and their fans, aka the customer.Sure they would have gained massive amounts of new fans but lost the ones whogot them to where they are today. I see marketing put into use everyday and it reactsto the consumer constantly and I have a feeling Jellyfish learned somethingvery important last time, to first let a song speak for itself. Jellyfish does an amazing job promoting VIXX constantly. There is not a singleweek that goes by that they aren’t mentioned or giving us updates. The memberswork just as hard to make sure their name is known and not forgotten. That gapis rather brilliant. To win precious awards, awards that so few are ever luck enough towin, you need sns points right? People talking about the group and the song?Check this out. Song gets released people talk about. The first day of theconcert people talk about it and post photos/videos. Second day the same thing. Then finally the MV. That is four days of sns points for VIXX. Four days ofhype for VIXX. What happens with the song after that is up to us as the fans.Without us there is no VIXX and no climbing up the charts to thus introduceVIXX to an even broader audience.

I’m sorry if this stepped on the toes of any of my followersbut I’m speaking from my heart and this is my honest opinion. I’ve seenhorribly bad marketing not just in kpop but on a corporate level and this, thisis not bad marketing at all and I do not like seeing people doing a great jobbeing questioned or put down without taking every angle of an issue into consideration.
