Flashback to earlier this summer, when we helped friends Tito, Nico, and Joa @anne-fine shellebrate their birthdays with a turtle-y cool card and a giant paper flower in Joa's favorite color! 🥳💌 🌸📬 I made sure to boop all the goodies we included in Tito, Nico, and Joa's birthday package, plus I added bonus CHOMPs to the card for maximum noms! 😋 That's how cards work, right? 🌟🎉🐢🐢🦜💝🎊🌟
Happy Lunar New Year, friends! 🎇 Today starts the Year of the Dragon, the most auspicious of the zodiac animals. ✨🐲 Wishing you all an abundance of happiness and the yummiest of noms all year long! 🎉🧧🐉🏮🎊
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads! Today we celebrate dads for all they do every day! 🥳💙
Granddad's ties are too big for my neck, so Mom made me my very own origami tie. Wearing a tie is hard! 👔🐢🤔
How do I check my tie for noms when it is under my chin?!
Don’t I look turtle-y tie-riffic?
Happy Leap Day!
Once every four years is a long time to wait. This is only my second leap day ever! To shellebrate, Mom made four colorful leaping friends just for me! And of course, like any good shellebration, there were noms aplenty...

Friend Rae was inspired by our Westerosi origami to add a third, shiny dragon to our collection! Now which one of these will bring me the tastiest snack for Sunday night? 🐉🤔🐢

Two years ago...
Shello, friends! Mom is traveling for a bit with limited, possibly nonexistent Interwebs access. Our usual daily posts will continue uninterrupted, thanks to the magic of Tumblr’s queue, but we won’t be able to respond to messages and asks until Mom returns. I am staying with friend gckaf again, so I will be well taken care of with little chance of getting radicchio for breakfast in bed every day.
More travel snacks, Mom!!

Happy Mother’s Day!
Today we celebrate all the mommies of the world: Their smiles will always be more beautiful to us than the prettiest of roses!
(Mommy got this jar for Grandmom many years ago and filled it with homemade pink roses that never wilt!)
Adventures with gckaf! Last but not least, Mommy and friend gckaf made me a few paper turtle friends during our visit with gckaf on the Fourth of July. They were very nice, but I kept getting distracted by a particularly dig-worthy section of gckaf's wall. Next thing I knew, there was a quacking, flashing duck yelling at me to stop!
Adventures with gckaf! My indoor adventures at friend gckaf's weren't limited to just cute Captain America and Tsum Tsum plushies. Friend gckaf also showed me her collection of beautiful handmade origami boxes. I fit in almost all of them! Next, gckaf showed us her big shiny sword and awesome sword letter opener! In a nod to Shark Week, gckaf's roly poly tiny shark plushie came out to say hello as well.
HE DID IT!!!
American Pharoah won the Belmont Stakes and the first Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978!!! And what a win: wire to wire for a five-and-a-half-length win!!!
Congratulations to Zayat Stables, Bob Baffert, and Victor Espinoza for a truly historic win!!
It's Derby Day!
Only half an hour til post time for the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby! The official flower of the "Run for the Roses" is the red rose: The winner gets a beautiful garland of more than 400 red roses, and his jockey gets 60 long-stemmed roses wrapped in 10 yards of ribbon!
This year's Derby field is one of the deepest in recent memory. As Joe Drape put it for the NY Times, "[F]or the first time since I have been coming here, the horses are the genuine stars and there is a sense that the 141st running of America’s signature race is going to be one for the ages." We can't wait!!
A lot of the buzz this year is about American Pharaoh, the 5-2 morning-line favorite who has "floated like a cloud" all week and who snagged jockey Victor Espinoza, rider of last year's winner California Chrome. We will be cheering for American Pharaoh, but our money's on his more tested (and undefeated!) stablemate Dortmund, son of 2008 Derby winner Big Brown. Either way, we think lucky trainer Bob Baffert is in for a big day today!
Mommy says I am and will always be a winner in her heart, so she made me my very own winner's garland of roses! (Pink, not red, because we don't have any fold-able red paper.)
