📢 BREAKING NEWS:  I am officially a boy!

Baby tortoises look the same, boy or girl, so Mom has been waiting for me to hit puberty to find out which I am.  In older tortoises, boys of my species have longer tails than girls and a differently shaped cloaca.  My tail has been growing longer the last few years, so Mom suspected I am a boy.  🤨

Today I was waiting sadly by my empty plate when Mom noticed I was standing strangely tall on my tippy toes . . . the way Waffles (@wafflesworld) does this time of year. . . . Mom took these photos, picked me up, . . . and now she knows I am definitely a boy!  🙈

(This also explains for Mom why she has caught me wagging my tail so much recently!  🍑)

Shello, friends!  We have good news and bad news for you today.

👻  Good news #1:  Brunhilda is getting a Halloween costume to go with my costume this year!  I helped cut the pink cloth for Brunhilda’s costume and made myself a big cape out of the rest!

😞  The bad news:  My winter blues have hit early this year, so unfortunately, we will not have a Halloween video this year.  Mom never forces me to do anything I don’t want to!

🎃  Good news #2:  Winter blues make me too grumpy for long videos, but I am always up for photos!  So we will still be sharing lots of photos of me in my Halloween costume...starting tomorrow!  Stay tuned!

Exciting life news:  We’re moving soon!  Our new place has more space and a sunny spot already reserved for me.  Even more exciting:  This will be a double move for me---I’m getting upgraded to a bigger enclosure!

A nice man gifted us fancy chocolates to help us shellebrate.  I usually don’t like chocolates unless they’re wrapped in shiny foil, but even I can’t resist these!

Friends, friends, friends! Whimsy here with WONDERFUL news for you today: Kirby is home, and best of all, Kirby ATE!!! On his own!! With both eyes open almost all the way!! Kirby didn't eat very much, but he ate much more than a few bites! (His tummy must be full from this morning's tube feeding, anyways.) And all on his own, without any prodding! Mouth open as wide as possible and lots of "FEED ME NOW" attitude! I have to go work again now (ugh), but we wanted to share this wonderful news with you all ASAP. We will post an update with more details tomorrow! Lots of love, whimsy
