Aivituvin Tortoise House Review, Part 7 (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6)

⚖️  Comparison time:  How does my new Aivituvin Tortoise House compare to my Zoo Med Labs Tortoise House?  Both are solid wood enclosures with open and enclosed areas.  The Aivituvin Tortoise House is slightly narrower, but essentially the two are the same size.  However, the Aivituvin Wooden Tortoise House comes with more features, while the Zoo Med Labs Tortoise House is slightly more flexible for rearranging the space.

⚙️  The additional features of the Aivituvin Wooden Tortoise House are:

⚙️  The Zoo Med Labs Tortoise House doesn't have the features above, but the center panel and one end panel are not screwed in and can be slotted in or out at any time.  This makes the Zoo Med Labs Tortoise House a bit more flexible if you would rather not have the center panel or if you want to combine two Tortoise Houses.

Aivituvin Tortoise House Review, Part 5 (Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4)

One of our favorite features of our Aivituvin Wooden Tortoise House is the plastic base.  The plastic is easy to clean and very sturdy, which means Mom doesn’t have to worry about scratchproofing or waterproofing even with my damp substrate sitting on top!

Another great feature is the rest of the Aivituvin Tortoise House is all made from fir wood.  Not only is fir wood more durable and waterproof than many other kinds of wood, but also fir wood smells amazing!

The Aivituvin Tortoise House comes with a neat lamp stand that you can install onto the side of the house.  We are using our Tortoise House outdoors, so we didn’t install the lamp stand, but it is a nifty feature!

Once we opened the package with my new Aivituvin Wooden Tortoise House, I supervised assembly following the detailed instruction booklet that came in the box.  Like my Zoo Med Tortoise House, the wood wasn’t pre-drilled for the screws, so I GRUMPed to make sure all the pieces lined up just right!

Five!, Part 6 (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13)

The flowers didn’t stop at my cake for my fifth birthday!  This spring, Zoo Med Labs came out with a new product just for tortoises:  Flower Food Toppers!  Each bag is a mix of dried blue and red cornflowers, chamomile flowers, blue mallow flowers, and rose petals—all healthy and yummy noms for torts!  🌸🌼🌹

Our local pet store hasn’t started carrying these yet, so the nice folks at Zoo Med sent us a big bag for free in exchange for us posting a review on Instagram.  📬 Flower Food Topper is exactly as advertised:  100% all-natural, dried flowers and nothing else.  The flowers come in a handy dandy resealable bag and smell heavenly. We bet you can guess my taste test verdict:  OMNOMNOM GIMME MOAR!   😋😍  I was especially excited about the flowers in my favorite color:  You can’t tell from these pictures, but I picked out all the red flowers first!   😏🙄

Mom is mixing these flowers into my regular greens several times a week, and I love them! We can’t grow a big garden of noms for me, so Flower Food Topper is a great way to add more variety to my diet, something Mom is always trying to do. Mom loves the convenience of mixed flowers that won’t go bad in two days or disappear in winter, and I love getting more kinds of noms. Win all around!  🙌
