Random Superstitions: Part 1

  • If the bottom of your right foot itches, you will be going on a trip very soon.

Voodoo Mama’s Spellbook: Forehead Dream Potion

*My spells can be used by any person that practices magic and are not exclusive to voodoo or hoodoo witches*

The Voodoo Hoodoo Spellbook had amazing dream spell that I altered a bit to make it fit my needs more. I do not claim the original spell but this one I have made my own.

Ingredients:

  • Red Wine vinegar
  • Red wine
  • Pinch of rosemary
  • Pinch of mugwort
  • Pinch of lavender
  • Honey

Directions:

  1. One by one, combine the herbs with the honey. This will sweeten them and make the magic begin to flow. 
  2. Add the mixture into the red wine vinegar.
  3. While thinking of the types of dreams that you want or the questions that you want answered, slowly add the red wine to the mixture. 
  4. Before sleeping, anoint your forehead with the mixture. 
  5. Sleep well and enjoy your dreams!

Voodoo Mama's Spellbook: Laying Tricks (Where the fuck do I put my charms/spells/etc?)

*My information can be used in any witchcraft practice or used as a reference. You do not have to be a believer of voodoo to understand this information. Just note that my knowledge is heavy in voodoo and hoodoo so a lot of what I am going to say comes from this so please give proper respect and credit when using these practices.*

What is a laying trick? Well it is simply where to place a spell or charm to either gain power or cross paths with the person. It is where you put things to “seal the deal.” And trust me, it is important. So I am going to give you so many options that your spells should work every time.

  • Outside the Home: This is usually used when you want to bind something to who lives in the house. Good luck charms or protection charms can be placed in your own yard in order to give you good luck and protection. Simple bad luck charms can be places in the target’s yard to hex them. This is the most common laying trick used as it is usually the easiest. Live somewhere without a yard? Put it under a rug or carpet!
  • Crossroads: Usually when I finish a ritual, I leave all of the remains at a crossroads so that cars will destroy it. This is very normal for a lot of rural magic users. Bad luck charms can also be left at crossroads to be destroyed by oncoming cars. Leave a coin at a crossroad for good luck. You can also make your own crossroad by marking somewhere with an X inside your house and placing it there.
  • Inside of an object or sewn into clothing: Love charms and good luck charms are oftentimes amazing when sewn into clothing or other items. Good dream charms, nightmare hexes, etc can be sewn into the mattress or pillow. This keeps the spell tied to a specific location so it can work its magic.
  • Construction site: It is very common and useful to place charms at construction sites as they tend to last forever or at least a very long time. Businesses or resturaunts are good if you want to attract business, banks are good for money, churches work well for protection, neighborhoods are good for family matters and friendship, courthouses are good to keep the law away, theaters for fame, and the list goes on and on.
  • In food or drink: I must warn that you should not put anything poisonous into someone’s food and please think of allergies. Food and drinks spells are usually good for gaining control over someone. You are controlling what goes into the person’s body and therefore you are in control of them. Use this if you wish to make someone do something you want. Love spells, hexes, etc.
  • A graveyard: Burying things in graveyards is usually used in extreme magic. Black magic, serious curses, etc, call upon the dead and old energy stored there to push the energy into the right direction.
  • Thrown off of somewhere; Wind: Now we get to the elemental stuff! Using the air, throw the charm off of a large building, mountain, etc for so that the air will slowly take the spell where it needs to be. This is for spells that you want to work slowly or at a nice pace. Love spells and small hexes work well with this as it allows things to start slow and gradually become stronger. I usually only use small charms as throwing a bag of odd things off of a building may alarm people. Use a dandelion, sand, oil infused herbs, or bubbles as your charm and blow.
  • Into the fire: Burning a charm can get rid of its effects or power them up, depending on what you are going for. The smoke that comes from burning the charm can either neutralize it or activate it.
  • Water: If you would like to be rid of something or banish anything, send your charm into the ocean or down a stream.
  • Plants: Bury the charm and a seed at the same time or use the seed as the charm by blessing it. As the seed grows, so will your spell.

Voodoo Mama's Spellbook: A Lunar Menstrual Love Spell

*My spells, though voodoo/hoodoo influenced, are open to everyone*

This is a powerful love spell for those of us who have menstrual cycles. The menstrual cycle is proof that the universe is connected to you. The very moon is guiding your body like the tides of an ocean. So this is a spell written by my grandmother and she swears by it. She says that she met my papa two weeks after performing this spell. The concept is to allow the moon to lead your body to a new love. I have actually never done this spell but upon posting this I will be trying. (Single lesbian sobsob)

This love spell can be used two ways and I will get into more detail into the instructions. I prefer to ask for love to be guided to me instead of focusing on a particular person but you can do otherwise with a slight variation I will include. Let me note that everyone has their opinion on love spells. I do not care to hear yours.

Ingredients:

SPELL MUST BE DONE ON A FRIDAY WHEN THERE IS A FULL MOON

  • -6 drops of menstrual blood 
  • -red wine 
  • -2 basil leaves 
  • -2 pinches ginger powder
  • -2 peaches 
  • -9 drops of juice from an orange
  • -full moon charged water 
  • -cheesecloth or something to strain water
  • -6 red rose petals 
  • -1 jar or container 
  • -(Optional) Hair of the person if there is someone in particular.

Directions:

  1. First of all you want to mix your moon water, ginger powder and drops of orange juice. 
  2. Set it out in the moonlight while you peel and slice your peaches. Be very slow and delicate while you do this. It symbolized you opening yourself up to the new experiences.  
  3. Get your pot back and add the sliced peaches into the pot. 
  4. Add the basil and rose petals and place the pot on the stove. 
  5. While it boils, focus on it and push your desires onto it. This potion of love will be charged with your dreams and everything that you need from a lover. Think about certain aspects that you wish for that person to have. Don’t forget to stir every now and again. 
  6. Once it is boiling, let it go for 30 seconds or so. 
  7. Strain the water with your cheesecloth or whatever you plan to use into a jar. You can throw the items strained into the trash or use them for any gardening you need. 
  8. Make sure that your jar is only about ¾ of the way filled up. 
  9. Meditate while watching the jar. You can talk to any deity and do any prayers at this time. Ask it to be blessed. This water is a potion of love, charged by the moon. 
  10. Once you are ready, slowly add your blood. As it hits the water, the love potion is bound to you by blood. Watch it fall through the mixture. Think about how one of your most intimate aspects is now here. If you are using this on a person, add their hair now and think the same about them. They are tied to you. 
  11. Finally, add the red wine and fill the jar all the way up. This seals the deal. Think about the romance you want. Maybe talk to the mixture and tell it out loud. It loves suggestions. Please be specific and careful with your words. 
  12. Close the jar and give it 9 shakes filled with emotion and want. 
  13. If this is meant for a certain person, go to their home and pour the mixture below their window. If it is for just anyone, pour it under your own window. 
  14. Within the next month or two, if the spell has worked, you will meet someone who is brought to you by the pull of the moon.

Voodoo Mama's Spellbook: Swift Justice

*This spell has very heavy voodoo/hoodoo influences. With slight altercations, anyone can do the spell. However, unless you practice voodoo/hoodoo, skip steps that I say below.*

A spell that I altered a long time ago. It is a very popular spell in its original format, but mine is different.

Ingredients:

  • Dirt from 9 child graves 
  • Large white bowl
  • 2 white candles
  • 1 red candle
  • Sugar
  • Sulfur
  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • A new, unworn pair of socks 
  • New, unworn underwear
  1. Go to a graveyard on a Thursday night. Using your right hand, get a small bit of dirt from 9 children graves. 
  2. Put the dirt in a large white bowl. 
  3. Place it on your alter, facing east, between the three candles, the red one being in the middle. 
  4. Light the candles. 
  5. Sprinkle a combination of rosemary and sage above the candles. 
  6. Add the sugar and sulfur to the dirt. 
  7. (VOODOO PRACTITIONERS ONLY) Recite the 35th psalm. Ask the spirits to help guide you. 
  8. If you are not a voodoo practitioner, invoke whatever deity you are asking for and imagine what you want to happen happening. 
  9. Turn the underwear and socks inside out. Sprinkle the mixture onto them, covering as much as you can.
  10. Leave them on the alter until the court date happens. 
  11. (VOODOO ONLY) Also read the 35th psalm every day until the court date. 
  12. On the date, turn the underwear right side in and wear them. Leave the left sock inside out as you wear it.
