I met up with @mermanjax @mermaid_kairi and @mermaidmoongazer (who wasn't in tail) for an epic California beach shoot. 🏖This shoot and my shoot with @enchantlens was one of the more physically creative dry shoots I've done in a long time, I tried new poses that I've never done before, stretched my flexibility and strength to the limit and went home feeling proud with what I had accomplished and how I had learned something new about the way my new tail can and cannot move (every tail is different, thanks tripod prop 😅) Enjoy this special wave break crown that ocean made for me 🌊 Who here is sore after a good mermaid photoshoot?? Happy #earthday everyone! 🌏 I wish I was celebrating with a beach day🏖, river adventure 🏞. Etc. Is it time to come out of hiding yet?? 🙈🙈🙈 I knew when I came back from New Zealand, Los Angeles and Arizonathat I would have a lot of content following the magnitude of shoots and meetups to get me though the slower weeks ahead after going back to work but little did I know what that would really mean...have I worked up the motivation to do an at home shoot? Nope. Am I a little jealous of people who have. For sure! I do feel like I have more free time to work on personal projects, edit photos from my New Zealand trip, etc. But you know what? I'm still working on that quarantine goal list I made myself 3 weeks ago and that's ok. 😴🤷‍♀️ So today just remember that If you see pretty photos on instagram and are feeling discouraged, chances are that the photo is older or the person finally had a chance to edit them with the break in normal work life that they're getting due to quarantine. Things arent always what they seem online, we're all in the same boat together 😊 Confess something you wanted to do during quarantine but havent! 💬💬 I'll go first: I wanted to continue the more active lifestyle I adopted in New Zealand by doing daily walks or light home workouts but guess what....I've gone on a hike twice in the 3 weeks that I've been home and have done zero home workouts. Orange and blue are complementary colors which means they are directly opposite from each other on the color wheel. Put blue and orange next to each other and they come alive 😍 🎨 I cant help but think of @mermaidhyli @lexiemermaid @the.mindful.mermaid and more recently @hfxmermaid when I see myself with ginger hair and a blue tail! She lay lazily along the rocks with her seaweed hair fanned out in emerald waves as the bright beams of golden sunrise warmed her scales and energized her for the coming day 🌅☀️💚🌈 I'm not usually a morning person (my normal wakeup is sometime between 9 and 10) but sunrise photoshoots make me energized for the coming day like no other. This is my last and FAVORITE photo from our Curio bay sunrise shoot (for now). So if you ever feel that you are alone Ater the night The morning comes 🌅 - @deltarae Did you know that Curio Bay is home to a petrified Jurassic forest? Up close down by the water you can see the remains of large tree trunks and stumps from ancient trees that were preserved in volcanic mud. Over time the wood was replaced by silica to produce tree fossils and over even more time, the sea exposed the buried fossils which are slowly being worn away by the pounding waves. Life goes through such amazing cycles... sometimes you're a lush green Jurassic forest (hair pun defintitely intended) sometimes you're buried in volcanic mud but there will always be something new coming in with the tide (thanks Castaway for that one). . . . . . . . They say that every part of the earth has been discovered, charted, and catalogued, that there are no truly wild places left. When I venture into the woods I find that there are still hidden places among the thickets of mountain laurel and sparkling waterfalls of our southern mountains and I imagine the creatures that might live there💚🌱🏞 One of my favorite things about Mermaid landscapes is that the photos always tell a story.
