finally found my perfect mermaid tail! the tail maker is German (magictail.de) and each tail comes with a monofin and a matching bikini top and bottom. The tail is fabric but it comes in a lovely scale print and the fluke print is a different print which makes it look more realistic.  All the reviews on the site as well as the mernetwork.com have been great.The best part is its only going to be around $150!!! This is literally the exact tail I've been looking for to start off, cheap, realistic, and functional.

update: super fast shipping (I live in the U.S. and got it within two weeks) and great contact with seller

update #2: I've been swimming regularly for about 2 months with the tail and there are NO cracks in the monofin or tears in the fabric.
