🎶You make me feel like I’m living an Ariel Dream 🎶 💋🔱💦 My absolute favorite thing about the Ariel Dream tail from @finfolkproductions is the unique fluke that is specific to this tail alone 💚 Also, the name “Ariel Dream” just reminds me of “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry (can you tell I’ve been in a late 2000s music mood recently?) and I find myself singing it when ever I think of this tail. I really love cosplaying Ariel and I’ve been dying to do a. Proper Ariel shoot in the wig I styled myself a few years ago that has sat patiently on a foam head on my dresser. Here are my Elsa shoes from start to finish! I started with a vintage white leather pointy toed Nine West heel (from goodwill!!) and cut out the middle part with an exacto knife. I was originally going to create the icicle design with clear vinyl but the vinyl proved to be way to flimsy and instead of spending lots of time and money testing different plastics I used an idea from a youtube tutorial on making hot glue icicles. I drew out the pattern on paper using the concept art for Elsa's shoes as a reference, and taped it to a hard, smooth surface (In my case I used an old DVD case but that was super improvised and I advise getting some kind of crafting mat). I then filled in the design with hot glue using the paper design as a guide. I let the glue dry and went over the whole thing again. After it cooled I took a large flatheaded screw driver (you can use any spatula or chisel shaped carving tool) and carefully scraped the hot glue off of the clear tape and I had a perfect 3D icicle for the front of the shoe!
I repeated the same thing for the other shoe and proceeded to use 36000 (craft glue that is way stronger than hot glue) to glue the pieces to the shoe and just went up and down the length of the shoe with more hot glue to blend the edges and make the shoe look like it was completely ice. I repeated the same process for the heel pieces but used a snowflake design instead of the concept art from Frozen.
I spray painted the shoes a baby blue color with a pretty generic brand spray paint from Michales, let it dry, added another coat, then sprayed modge podge clear acryllic sealer with a glossy finish over top of the paint. While it was still wet I covered the shoes in iridescent white glitter and sprayed a crap ton of sealer over top to ensure it was going to stay put. I then let it dry and added more sealer and more sealer until it was glossy and glittery just like ice!
I then paraded around the house in the shoes and annoyed this shit out of my roommates
