On the subject of Jason's scars: in addition to the scar from the batarang incident, he should have a scar (or more than one) from the time Bruce smashed his helmet in Rhato25 <3 so he stands in front of the mirror and sees all the marks he has from others, and most of them he doesn't even remember where they're from, unless it was a particularly memorable injury... And they don't bother him. But the scars that Bruce gave him? Those he struggles with, simply because they are indelible proofs of what he means to Bruce nowadays.

Whenever he starts to get comfortable, if things are going well, he has those to remember that things will never ever be the same.

And maybe the worst part is that he doesn't even have scars from his (first) death, so it's like it didn't even happen, like it didn't rob him of things that should've been his. So while he has no scars from the Joker, he has a couple from Bruce, and really, it's easier to not even dig into what that means.

Also, Bruce having one scar from that one time Jason punched him in Ethiopia <3. Something small, that maybe no one else knows what it is about. But Jason knows, and the knowledge is something horrible, because it's fair, isn't it? Bruce should also bear the marks of the ways their relationship is fucked up. Jason likes that Bruce has that, is the thing. But he hates that he feels like that, because it shouldn't be like this.

But it is.
