However, after an uncomfortable amount of time passes and nothing seems to have changed, he becomes a little concerned.

While I prefer knowing the player more than the character [I'll play with just about any character my friends try] it's obviously helpful for initial interactions and early stuff when I know the source material. It's easier to cross over two canons when I actually know the lore for both lmao

That being said I don't know very much source material. I don't watch modern anime, I've never been a live action person because I have trouble with faces [Marvel was fine for a while due to lots of costumes to help me, but then I got sick of all the Marvel shit now I want nothing to do with it], I don't like reading novels only reference material, I'd rather eat my shoes than partake in a comic fandom, and I haven't been interested in TV or movies at all in like 10+ years.

Also, Supernatural is banned in the household because Carry On Wayward Son makes my dog howl, this is not a joke he even does it to cover versions

No I don't get into new fandoms through RP. I don't get into new canons often at all, the last new ones were Detroit Become Human in 2018 and Hades in 2020.
