Peridot is trying to get work done. Lapis couldn’t care less.

Alright so let’s put this all into perspective.

Pearl is an awful being because she did a bad thing. She’s had many screw ups without a doubt. Now, let’s see what happens when we put the flaw spotlight on other characters. Let’s start with blatant ones.

Sadie. She was so wrapped up in finally getting Lars to have a good time that she purposely trapped them on an island where Steven and Lars could have died.

Amethyst. She was so wrapped up in self-loathing that she took her anger out on Pearl, nearly killing Steven in the process.

Buck Dewey. He took advantage of Steven’s naive and childish personality and made a joke out of one of his drawings, knowing it was horrible and satirizing Steven and his dad even when he was asked to stop.

Lapis Lazuli. She wanted to be free so bad that she endangered the entire planet trying to get home, also almost killing Steven along with his dad, Connie, and the Crystal Gems.

Sugilite. Yes, I am counting her as an individual character because this helps support my point. She was so self-centered and brash that she went on an entire rampage, purposefully beating Pearl down when she was trying to reason with her.

Rose Quartz. She belittled Greg at the beginning of their romance, thinking of him as a joke at first and caring very little for his serious feelings.

Garnet. Whilst Garnet’s flaws are subtle, we’ve seen that she indeed is very brash and violent in situations of stress.

Ruby. She is very short tempered, a literal and metaphorical hothead. She’d rather be angry and rampage than actually look for a logical solution, taking her anger out on surrounding objects and people.

Sapphire. She seems to be self-righteous, her future vision seemingly putting herself above others. When faced with a conflict, she stares into the future rather than the present, seeming cold and uncaring to those around her and hurting them in the process.

And now Pearl, the most bastardized and hated character in this fandom. She often is emotionally unstable, getting so caught up in whatever she’s doing that she doesn’t realize the harm she’s causing. She has good intentions. An example would be Sworn to the Sword, where she fullheartedly thought she was doing good by training Connie to be a knight as she was. The best example (which is where I believe is where you are basing your hatred) is the entire arc of Stevenbomb 3. She loved being Sardonyx because it made her feel whole, and we all can see that even Garnet liked being Sardonyx. They were both jumping for glee at the thought of their fusion. Pearl believed by repairing the tower that she was making more glee for them, forgetting the repercussions her actions might have.

All of these characters share the same thing.

Realistic flaws and good intentions.

So I guess that means almost the entire cast of Steven Universe is just like Pearl, huh? Just manipulative and thinking about themselves? Disregarding the feelings and trust of others? Seems like it, according to your observations.
