With the release of Ahsoka there's something I've begun to wonder about concerning the future of Jedi.

And I'm not talking about the immediate future. I'm talking about what it's going to look centuries and millennia ahead.

Because in a sense it feels like there's going to be many splintered Jedi paths now, and I'm not sure there's ever going to be a single Jedi Order the way there was before the genocide.

There's the Jedi who will follow after Rey and who will mostly be learning from the ancient Jedi texts that might make them be a closer reflection of who the Jedi might have been a long time ago at the dawn of the Republic, not during the centuries before its collapse.

But there's also the Jedi who might come after Ahsoka and Sabine, who apparently carry more recent Jedi texts (and Huyang), - but whose legacy might certainly look different from the Jedi Order in which Ahsoka grew up in, what with her taking on a Padawan who doesn't have the inherent talent for using the Force that the Jedi once required before being accepted into the Order.

And we can't forget that both Ahsoka and Sabine are warriors the way Jedi who grew up before the Clone Wars just weren't. That will leave a mark. And I don't think it's going to be quite the same kind of mark that Rey's going to be leaving.

Then there's Grogu. Who decided to return to his father and who will grow up Mandalorian. But what with the Mandalorian habit for raising foundlings, eventually Grogu will probably take up some kind of students too (just, you know, maybe a century or two down the line).

And yeah I'm sure there's going to be overlap too (for one, I don't really think that Ezra's legacy will be separate from Ahsoka and Sabine's, unless he ends up staying in another galaxy).

But there's probably going to be many different ways to be Jedi. And many more paths to choose from.

And honestly? I kind of find that beautiful. And I think that from within the echoes of the Force, the Jedi who once were might find it beautiful too.

Grogu is my apprentice. He is no longer a foundling. Add him to the Song. — He is too young to speak, so he is too young to take the Creed. — If his parent gave permission, couldn’t he then become a Mandalorian apprentice? — Yes, but his parents are far from here, if they are even alive.
