After all these years. Who knew we’d make such a good T-e-a-m.
ANNE WITH AN E (2017 - 2019) | s03 ep07 ‘A Strong Effort of the Spirit of Good’
ANNE WITH AN E (2017 - 2019) | s02 ep06 ‘I PROTEST AGAINST ANY ABSOLUTE CONCLUSION‘
Dear Anne,
Since we are parting ways, perhaps forever, I feel I must unburden my heart. You are the fond object of my affection and my desire. You and you alone are the keeper of the key to my heart.
Please, don't be alarmed. I don't expect your favor, but I can't in good conscious not reveal myself.
I'm not engaged, nor will I be, unless it's to you, Anne, my Anne with an e.
It always has been and always will be you.
With love, Gilbert.
#Ps. Thanks for the pen#good luck at Queens.“ (via bilirimben)
“What did you say to our classmates to make them change their mind about me?”
ANNE WITH AN E 3.10 | The Better Feeling of My Heart
The Anne and Gilbert rivalry is near and dear to fans of Anne of Green Gables. Here’s a little taste of the texture and tone of how this plays out in Anne the Series. Mild episode 5 spoilers, ahead… Anne and Gilbert are up against one another in a Spelling Bee and are the final two contestants. The charming thing is when it’s Anne’s turn, Gilbert doesn’t look as though he’s hoping for her to fail. Instead, he’s quietly rooting for her to succeed. And when she indeed earns a genuine win, he’s sweet and gracious about it. Yet more layered acting from the young cast.
SHIP
Gilbert after Anne winning the spelling competition saying “Congratulations, Anne. I should have added the e” with this little grin on his face

AND THEY WERE SPELLING ENGAGEMENT OH MY LORD FORESHADOWING

A Post-Fire Photo Study...
Gilbert: *Helps up Ruby*… *Makes sure Anne saw him help her friend*
Anne: *Looks at Ruby staring slack-jawed at Gilbert*
Ruby: I’m going to fall down ALL THE TIME now.
Gilbert To Anne: You’re welcome for me helping your friend up.
Anne: SHIITTTTTTTTT. *panic*
Matthew: OOOOH SCONES!
Ruby: If I fall down again right now, do you think he’d help me up again?
Gilbert: Please stop looking at me like that.
Gilbert: Oh good, Anne’s done talking to Matthew. Can I have a scone?
Anne: Gotta go.
Gilbert: Good talk.
Can we just…it just occurred to me as I was talking bout this with @pafdoot, but Anne and Gilbert, this soon into their acquaintance, have both seen each other at their most vulnerable. When Gilbert ran into her in the woods and Billy Andrews was about to do whatever it was he was about to do, Gilbert saw her head down, shoulders hunched, totally defeated and ready to accept whatever was going to happen.
Anne, when she shows up at his house to deliver the books and she meets his dad, is likely the only other student who knows about just how bad his dad is fairing. I mean I guess people know that his dad wasn’t doing well, but I doubt very much the rest of the town knows just how bad it is, but Anne does.
They’re both such good souls that they’d never take advantage of that knowledge, but it just speaks to the depth this show is building into their relationship, even at this early stage. Guys, GUYS, this is going to be the epic romance Gilbert and Anne deserve.
FIND SOMEONE WHO LOOKS AT YOU THE WAY GILBERT BLYTHE LOOKS AT ANNE SHIRLEY
#coming out on Netflix May 19 #Anne the series #Gilbert Blythe ladies and gents one of my OG crushes #and *whispers* they made his character even *better* in this series because instead of being cocky, hot-tempered, and lashing out at Anne when she treats him badly, he’s confident, even-tempered, and patient, and when she yells at him just sort of smiles and throws some banter back at her #I’m in love with this actor #charisma for *daysssss*
