When Buffy falls, at the final battle against The First Evil, a sword-wound in her side, Amy's heart stops.

The stake she slings, fueled by revenge, kills the offending vampire.

"I'm sorry Amy..." Buffy murmurs, her voice laced with pain.

'You can't die,' Amy thinks, shaking her head, she tries to voice that aloud, but her lips day "I love you Buffy..." instead.

Buffy stares. Amy swallows. Their fingers twine.

Buffy stands beside her.

Buffy will fight again.
