periods of flint/miranda’s sexual relationship:
1. Happy threesome. Both doing an “I Kissed a Girl” thing with each other for Thomas’ benefit.
2. Grieving process. Is it the sex’s fault the process never moves on? Well, it didn’t help.
3. Bored and depressed. What are they supposed to do, NOT have sex????
4. True love. Only available on boat sailing to Carolinas as the two of them make passionate, desperate, soul affirming, re-humanizing eye contact, at last seeing the whole of the other and perhaps themselves.
5. Posthumous. Ghost Miranda critiques Flint’s jerking it technique.
Day 3: Boots

I watched all of The Owl House this month, and this show is so excellent!!! The magic and the universe is really good, and I really like how it keeps growing, and you learn more about this world!!!
The characters are really fun, with a strong found family theme - Eda, King and Luz are adorable and so much love, with Hooty and Lilith around as well!!! And then also keeping the importance of family and I really love how Vee ends up fitting there!!! And I LOVE how the show brings her mom, Camilla, into the story, giving her her own strenght!!
Still on characters, the friendships are really good!!! I really like Luz with Willow an Gus - it's fully adorable!!!! And I LOVE how it's not just Luz growing as a witch but also them!!! And then the same said with Hunter, and then finally Amity - the romance is so beautiful and I really love how it grows through time, how you see the crush become more, and the care and trust between them!!!
Truly all the background characters are also so good and add a lot of good things to build this incredible world!!!

Flint still can’t shake off the feeling that this is all just a very real dream. Yesterday morning he had woken up alone, clueless about when he would see Silver again. A few hours later, he clung to Thomas, shocked and grateful and sobbing. Thomas, who now had a beard and a few white streaks in his light-coloured hair and whose hands were no longer soft and flawless but bore calluses that spoke of hard work.

NEW KATHRYN PICS WHAT THE FUCK
I need y’all to understand that every time that somebody who makes $10,000 a year thinks that somebody who makes $30,000 a year thinks that somebody who makes $50,000 a year thinks that somebody who makes $100,000 a year thinks that YES EVEN somebody who makes $150,000 a year is the real enemy
…a billionaire wins and we all lose.
And every time that somebody who makes $150,000 a year thinks that they’re better than somebody else who makes $100,000 a year thinks that they’re better than somebody else who makes $50,000 a year thinks that they’re better than somebody else who makes $30,000 a year thinks that they’re better than somebody else who makes $10,000 a year
…a billionaire wins and we all lose.
Privilege and comfort rises with income, obvi. It’s not all “the same.” But please zoom the fuck out and look at the whole picture. The WHOLE picture.
sometimes it also helps to clarify exactly how much a billion dollars is, since it's easy to forget when we all refer to it written out.
a billion is a thousand millions.
that guy who makes 100,000 a year? you need ten of him to get one million. the billionaire makes as much as ten thousand guys who make $100,000 each.
imagine if the billionaire was willing to make $500,000 a year. that would mean there would be enough money left over to give nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety people salaries of $100,000 per year even if they were making nothing to start.
imagine how much those people would spend and buy with that cushion of income. imagine how widely the money would trickle down to childcare workers, to sandwich shop employees, to car mechanics, to boarding kennel workers if all those people were out there suddenly spending enough money to live comfortable lives. what a vision. income equality makes us all wealthier: wealth doesn't trickle down, it builds from the income of the poorest among us rising from the bottom up.
fuck billionaires.
It's also worth considering how far a million dollars actually goes. I grew up on shows like Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and Survivor, where $1,000,000 was framed as "enough money that you could quit your job and live comfortably for the rest of your life."
It's not. It hasn't been in a long time.
I live in California. A modest two-bedroom apartment here - not a luxury apartment, just something average - is an average of $2464 per month, not including utilities.
(Anywhere closer to a city - which is also where many of the jobs are - is pricier.)
To comfortably afford $2464 per month, you need to be making about $95,000 per year.
$100,000 per year isn't unimaginably wealthy. It's enough for an average family to rent a modest apartment - one bedroom for the parents; one for a kid or a home office; one room to cook, eat, and live.
I think that's really the floor that we should all be living at, not a ceiling. Everyone deserves at least that much comfort and luxury - to have a bedroom, comfortable clothes, food they enjoy, occasionally take a modest vacation.
If we took the wealth from all 813 American billionaires, we could give that floor to fifty-seven million people. That's enough to give every single person living below the poverty line $100,000. And then the next 20 million people just above the poverty line.
And that's not even counting all the money tied up in corporations, or which wealthy people are successfully hiding.
The fact that so many folks are living with so much less comfort and security is a travesty, and fighting each other won't fix it.
Eat the rich, folks. We can't stop working to make things better, but we can make things better.
she's a lesbian. she has an emotional support malewife. she has a kill count in the hundreds. she wears a funny hat. she's ginger. she doesn't know how to talk about her feelings. she dresses in men's clothing. she threatened the love of her life with a knife right before they kissed. she's the strong and silent type. she had an emotional breakdown when her partner left for two days. she can't smile without it looking like a snarl. she murdered a bunch of rapists. she is the bravest and truest person. there is nothing important that does not include her. I am chewing glass why is everyone in the entire world not completely obsessed with her.

Look, he’s got two husbands now.
OH I reblogged this without the second part and now I am healed and my crops are watered. I love it!
Here are some of my favorite photos from the West Wing book that came out today! There are a ton more but I’m already sobbing and I’m only a quarter of the way through it.

You wanna talk about an unsung hero of the Black Sails show? I'll tell you who it is.
He has put up with more shit than anyone else in this story. He was constantly asked to perform impossible tasks and delivered every time with a sour puss on his face. He was the quartermaster of one of the dumbest crews that sailed under one of the most iconic captains in a roster of other great captains, and no one has appreciated him. He was the third wheel in the governance of Nassau post-Guthrie rule, often having to balance Max's endless ambition and Jack's lunatic genius, and yet none of it would have survived if he hadn't been there. He has aged fifty years since taking the position as Jack Rackham's quartermaster and has a generous distaste for cravats. He loves Idelle with all his heart, for she is the only light of his life. He discovered the route to Skeleton Island, an island so obscure and off the maps that basically no one knows where it is or even if it exists, based on the words of an old man who kicked the curb halfway through the voyage. He is my best friend and his name is Augustus Featherstone.
