Elena Kagan is on the United States Supreme Court.
She is the 112th Justice, and the fourth female.
Chalk up another legacy for President Obama ... Kagan, who will be the fourth woman to serve on the high court after she is sworn in, won the job on a Senate vote of 63-37 ... Currently the U.S. Solicitor General, Kagan has "earned her place at the top of the legal profession," said Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.
and as for the talk of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, now 77, stepping down, she, in a rare (and slightly sassy) interview says
she has no plans to retire anytime soon and still wants to match Justice Louis Brandeis, who stepped down at age 82.
