It's proper snowing in Seattle for the first time in a couple years, so I had to play this song.

Looper Original Motion Picture Soundtrack - 180gram Vinyl
I’m so excited to finally announce the double-vinyl release of the Looper score in conjunction with Mondo records. I worked closely with everyone at Mondo and the awesome designer Jay Shaw to make something that goes way beyond a limited edition. This is truly a deluxe collector’s item, and I’m so proud of all the work everyone put into it.
Here are the details:
•180g vinyl, 45 RPM
•2XLP album: embossed, gold foil gatefold jacket
• Custom, hand-embellished Canvas bag by Austin-based effects shop Hawgfly Productions.
• Special “lock groove” breaks that play on continuous loop in the center of the record; featuring the found-sound rhythm section programmed and performed by Nathan Johnson and Chris Mears
• Limited edition 7” featuring Kid Koala's track “Slinky Dance” as featured in the Belle Aurora club scene, along with a B-side featuring a solo piano version of the Looper theme performed by Ryan Lott (Son Lux). (NOTE: it appears the extra 7” version of the album is sold out, but there are still a few available over at Mondo. Move quickly - these are on the verge of selling out for good :)
I woke up early yesterday to make sure I could get one of these gorgeous babies for my very own. Amazingly there are still some available (without the 7"), so go grab one if you're into that.
I am totally bringing this to the store and staying late some night so I can listen to the whole thing on the house system. It's going to be beautiful.

If you wear a washboard shirt around a washboard player, she's going to want a picture with you. After breakfast in LA with Nathan, Katie, Jonny and Desiree (others not pictured because they were not wearing washboard shirts).
I arrived back home in Seattle to find the Looper soundtrack in my mail. I soon went out for coffee and pho with my brother, and stopped by Sonic Boom for Transcendental Youth and Babel. They each came with a free gift: a 45 and a lovely screen-printed poster. It's a good day for physical media.

It's not really winter until I get a hankering to hear "Holding Hands Still Counts When You're Wearing Gloves" by Seth and Nathan Johnson. Adorablest winter song ever.
The ending song I wrote for the Brothers Bloom. String arrangements by the ever great Son Lux. I did a few versions of this before settling on this sedated one. Somewhere, there exists what we took to calling the “My Heart Will Go On” version. Bombast doesn’t suit it, trust me.
