Your opinion on Redeemed!Lila/Nino?
Indifferent.
I guess it depends on the context of Lila’s redemption. It’s the sort of thing where I’d have to be really sold on Lila trying to improve herself, and on top of that, Lila and Nino having any kind of chemistry.
Years before Hawkmoth’s rise, a conflict led to war between the Order of the Guardians and the descendants of previous miraculous holders. The former believed that their heroes needed to be chosen based off of merit and should be evaluated based off Order values, while previous heroes wanted to choose their successors and train them (or rather, raise their children to become new heroes). The heroes also thought the Order’s training of their Guardians was far too strict and cruel.
During this conflict, the miraculouses were scattered across different factions. Five of the most powerful, the Ladybug, Cat, Fox, Bee and Turtle, remained with a Guardian-in-training, Wang Fu. The remaining two, the Peafowl and Butterfly, went missing somewhere in Europe. And the zodiacs were taken by various parties. Hoping to protect the five kwamis, Fu fled the Temple, bearing a grudge against the Order, and what would eventually be known as the Rightful Heroes.
Fast forward to present day. Hawkmoth attacks the city of Paris, looking to claim the Ladybug and Cat miraculouses and make a wish to save his wife’s life. However, Team Miraculous are not the only ones interested in putting a stop to Hawkmoth’s evil-doing. Now knowing where the location of the Butterfly is, the rival factions close in, promising to make our heroes’ lives far more difficult than before.
What none of them realize is that all of this conflict will lead to the rise of a new group… and an old enemy from the ancient past.
Love the new chapter and insight on Nino thoughts on the whole matter. Though I'm very intrigued about the showdown between Alya and Kagami when she tried to set up Lila with Adrian OwO
I’m glad you did! Nino and Alya’s POVs were the ones I was most looking forward to when writing “Paper Sky”.
Alya’s chapter will be next (after “Radio” is done), so we’ll be exploring her insight on the interaction then. Kagami will also get a chapter, but much later on and only after she appears in the main story. That won’t be for a while, because like I said in an update, the next story arc, “All the Laughs We Had in the Past” will put Chloe and Chat in the spotlight, amongst other things.
I can tentatively say that Kagami will appear sometime after that (in “A Bottle of Exquisite Stuff”) but probably won’t get a lot of focus until the collection after that (”The Kind That Makes You Forget Again”).
But take all of that with a grain of salt. I’ve made last minute changes to the story before, like with “White Hot Morning” - I originally had no plans to include the Puppeteer 2, and planned to focus more on Lila’s exposure. The writing process for this project is a bit all over the place but it’s certainly been a ride.

So a while ago, I mentioned something about a Restless AU, where all our heroes get weird, psychoanalytical dreams ala the Buffy episode from the end of season 4. Here are some ideas, I guess:
--> Playing up the light vs dark motif in Luka and Adrien’s names in Marinette’s dream. When Luka appears, the lighting is always perfect and Marinette can see him clearly. It’s more like a gentle glow. But with Adrien, the lighting is always either too bright, blinding her if she looks at him, or too dim, not able to see him even if she squints. At some point, there is a ball, and she knows she dances with Luka, but she’s not sure if her other dance was with Adrien or Chat Noir.
--> Adrien’s dream is similar to Xander’s, in that no matter where he goes or where he tries to escape to, he ends up back in his bedroom. Also, playing into his love for anime, everyone in his dream fits some sort of role in a slice of life comedy (Marinette is the class president, Chloe is his tsundere childhood friend, Nino is his chill, laidback bro, etc).
--> Alya’s dream is in black and white, with anything that could be considered gray or not fitting in the shade range, impossible for her to see.
--> Lila appears glamorous and bigger than life in both Nino and Alya’s dreams. In Chloe’s dream, she’s wearing a sheep costume and plays up a “damsel in distress” routine. In Adrien’s dream, she essentially acts like Monika from Doki Doki Literature Club. And in Marinette’s dream, she switches between her civilian form, Volpina and the forms she takes as Chameleon.
--> Nino’s dream is similar to Willow’s, but instead of taking a theatrical route, it’s Hollywood themed. No one gets their lines right or insists that the script is wrong. Lila is supposed to be playing the heroine of the movie ala Molly Ringwald. Adrien is her love interest but is clearly uncomfortable. Nino thinks he just needs more time with his lines.
--> Chloe’s dream as her follow her dad for “Bring Your Child to Work” day. Using her mayorial power, she attempts to rewrite her past, but can’t get the public to approve her choices. Adrien contacts her through a hologram, but can’t come to visit her right now. Marinette is always wearing business attire and is always serious. Ladybug is all smiles and waves, almost like a beauty queen.
--> Alya, of course, ships Marinette with whoever makes her happy (Adrien or Luka, mostly Adrien though), whereas Lila ships a bit more politically so to speak. Meaning, any normal guy that isn’t really popular or famous that expresses interest in Marinette, that way she can keep him away from Adrien. She’s mostly a Nathaniel/Marinette shipper, since he has the least amount of fame and keeps to himself mostly. If she’s around in Animan, though, she might try to help set up Ninette. And she’s fine with Lukanette too, until Kitty Section starts to pick up in popularity. Then she decides that Luka should be her backup option if wooing Adrien fails.
--> Luka is pretty wise to catch on to Lila, saying she’s “somewhat out of tune.” After Alya speaks to Marinette about her doubts concerning Lila, Marinette goes to him and he tells her what he thinks. With two people that she trusts sharing doubts, Marinette decides she needs to come up with some sort of plan to confront Lila, but isn’t sure exactly how she wants to go about handling it.
--> Adrien is mostly neutral on the whole manner. He doesn’t dislike Lila, but he’s not overly fond of her, either. Mostly because of she attaches herself to him. However, he does feel kind of bad for her, being a new student and having only one parent around, mostly working. Plus, being friends with Marinette makes him think there must be some good in her too, just waiting to come out.
--> If Adrien were to give Marinette a “high road” speech in this AU like he does in Chameleon, Marinette is shutting that down real quick. First of all, even if Lila doesn’t threaten her, her lies still hurt Marinette, since she betrayed her. How is Marinette supposed to trust her now? Did she even care about her feelings? How much was she using her? And what about everyone else? And if left unchecked, Lila is only going to get more daring in her quest for popularity, not caring who gets hurt. That being said, this conversation isn’t necessarily guaranteed to happen.
--> Lila gives love advice that might be want the person wants to hear or seems like it might be good, but isn’t actually though.
--> Lila and Marinette know who each others’ first kisses were (for Lila, it was some boy when she was living it Italy, for Marinette, it was childhood friend Kim when they were like, six. They have never spoken about it since).
In Oni-Chan. Lila sent that Photo to EVERYONE on Adrien’s contact list. She contradicted a lie she told Nino earlier about not being interested in Adrien. Which Nino told Alya who told Marinette.
Nino and Alya should Both not trust Lila as they were lied to, yet Both Of them act like nothing happened.
This not even including the s*** in Chameleon.
Like seriously.
How was Chloé not pissed about it?
I don’t know if he has the entire class, but at least those three should be on to Lila.
I still refuse to watch Oni-chan, but ooh, do I want some salt fic...
So! I just heard that Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is getting a sequel! So, it’s time for some Clan HCs!
Marinette - I like the idea of her being a Tremere. At first, feared by everyone, since the Tremere aren’t to be trusted. But she’s just so nice and smart, that everyone fears her even more but she also gains quite a few allies and support.
Adrien - Either Brujah or Gangrel. Brujah especially would allow for him to lash out and develop into his own person.
Alya - Oof. There’s a couple that could be interesting. Brujah, since Alya’s a pretty outspoken person with a strong sense of justice. Malkavian might make an interesting arc for her, because she knows things but no one would believe her. She’d also be able to use Obfuscate. Nosferatu means sacrificing her looks, but in return, she would be able to get into places others can’t, and learn all the secrets she wants.
Nino - Toreador.
Chloe - Nosferatu would give Chloe an interesting arc. Probably the meanest option to be honest. Toreador would also be fitting, since she would be distracted by almost everything pretty.
Luka - Whatever option Adrien isn’t. Although, Toreador would also be interesting (imagine Marinette constantly distracting him). Imagine Toreador Nino and Luka bonding over being distracted all the time. Throw in Toreador Chloe and everything becomes a mess.
Kagami - She might start off as a rival Tremere to Marinette, with the two eventually joining the same side. Ventrue!Kagami would make an interesting contrast to Brujah!Adrien and a good rival for Lila though.
Lila - This girl would be a Ventrue that obsessively uses Dominate. Although Malkavian!Lila would be great too.

This is based off an idea from my “Two Souls” AU where the butterfly miraculous was corrupted by the peacock. Every time Hawkmoth makes an akuma after the incident, they turn out different from how he intended. Furthermore, he can no longer recall the akuma, so Ladybug and Chat Noir absolutely have to defeat the akuma in order to return things to normal.
The corruptions are random. They can enhance or nerf powers. They can also give out entirely different powers from what was intended.
So far, I did corruptions for Bewitched (Marinette) and Space Patrol (Adrien). So let’s have some corruptions for the rest of the Miraculous Team.
