Great times at the OLL event last night as part of World Oceans Day. Coming from a sea fairing family and having always lived beside the ocean, this cause is very dear to me. Please check it out and support..http://www.oceanlifeline.org/

The history of New York fascinates me so I was delighted to discover The Museum of the City of New York Collections Portal. It displays an immense collection of black and white photos that give you a stark insight into the city's past.
Of special interest are the photos of Jacob Riis, whose pioneering photojournalism work in the slums of the Lower East Side formed the basis of his hugely significant book 'How the Other Half Lives'.

Check out the art of Sun-Chang Lo.

I had the pleasure of working with him at the Apple Store recently and was enchanted by his work. Yesterday he gifted me a published book of his line drawings 'Metropolis: An Omni Vision'. The drawings were created spontaneously on the streets of Chinatown NY, Hong Kong and cities across China. It is mesmerizing and staggering work.
In his own words:
"In fact, my drawing process in characterized by a liberation of the mind and a lack of premeditated designs. During the actual execution, however, habits dictate discipline and forbearance while intuition propels logic and composition. Every move seems to gravitate around the central theme of balance and symmetry. Sometimes, in a spur of the moment, I tend to improvise freely by injecting decorative motifs and life's symbols, resulting in a spectacle of multiplicity and vitality."
