Prompts: Sera showing (human, since that's the only way they really get along lol) Cole how to prank.
“Right, first off, you gotta pick a target!”
Sera’s eyes blazed, blue and bright, while Cole shifted from foot to foot uneasily. From beneath the broad rim of his hat, he sniffed, tilted his head, and began sweeping his gaze around the courtyard, searching.
“A target is something you hit.” he said slowly. His tone tilted upward ever so slightly, almost making it a question.
Sera snorted. “Yeah, that’s the point.”
Cole frowned. “So a prank is the same as… training?”
Her giggle trailed off as Sera shook her head. “Not really… well, I mean… a little…” she shrugged, then moved over to the window of her room. “It’s like training folk to lighten up a bit, yeah?”
Pointing out across the courtyard, Sera guided Cole’s gaze to her chosen victim, a wicked grin spreading across her face. Varlen, who had just wandered out of the great hall and was heading down towards the tavern, seemed utterly oblivious to the pair of soon-to-be pranksters eyeing him from the second storey window.
“He is the target?” Cole asked, and Sera nodded, a low giggle bubbling up from her throat. Cole frowned. “He does not look like a target.”“Ohhh yeah,” Sera said, clapping her hands twice in sharp delight, “this’ll be good! Snow-butt always has the best reactions!” she turned to Cole, this time fixing him with a serious look. “So, thinkin’ time: what would you do?”
Cole’s eyes drifted back across to Varlen, who was beginning to cross the courtyard, hands in his pockets, whistling a light, easy tune. “I don’t know.” Cole admitted slowly as the elven man wandered carelessly. “Why do you… prank?”
Sera chewed on her tongue, turning her answer over in her mouth before sharing it. “Well, you do it to get people to take themselves less serious. Y'know… loosen them up a bit, or make ‘em less scary for the little folk. Lots of big-britches around these parts.”
