Very possibly not factoring in the extra weight of her mechanical body and giving her a standard parachute.

So every mission comes along with the risk of breaking her.

They drop her out of an airplane with a standard parachute and expect her to fire on people as she goes down, because there’s a high probability of her breaking to bits when she finally lands.

And she knew this.

That’s why they couldn’t get her to look happy for the recruitment poster.

She’s essentially free-falling ordinance. With a high probability of shrapnel.

You can NOT be happy about being that.

The photo gets famous on Tumblr in late 2013. Someone in the reblog suggests that it’d make a great cartoon:

An artist (lemonteaflower) creates single pane art of the imagined cartoon about the officer and the bear. lemonteaflower titles it "Miss Officer and Mr Truffles."

The ‘Miss Officer and Mr Truffles’ art inspires other artists to make fan art as well.

There’s drawings and animations and theme music and fanfic. There is an au crossover prompt. There is headcanon about the fancanon. THERE ARE NEW CHARACTERS. There are fandom complaints about the unfair treatment of Miss Officer and Mr Truffles compared to other shows (deservedly so.)

This is an entire fan ecosystem grown out in a matter of hours, all without official canon (h/t Mike Rugnetta for the idea.)

Oh yeah, and thanks to DailyDot, the RMCP officer created a Tumblr just to say hi and show her appreciation.
