I really hate people who dislike Alfred for no reason, at all. This happened when he became King, and some are doing it again, after what happened to Aethelred. Neither were his fault and Alfred is one of the characters that Hirst writes really well. Plus, Ferdia is amazing. Keep your hate away from me. I’ll block you, if you don’t. What happened to Aethelred is horrible. I’m never saying it should have happened, or that it doesn’t need to be punished but do not attack the person who wasn’t even conscious.

Amen! Ferdia's getting tons of love for his acting on Reddit and YT. Despite people bashing the show's Season, he's consistently the most liked actor/character by casuals. Tons of male fans praise his skills and say he's the star to watch.

As far as the 'Aethelred's Death' and 'Becoming King' arcs, Hirst wrote them to create fake tension. It's not Alfred's fault that Judith is a conniving, controlling and abusive mother. He doesn't deserve any hate, Judith does.
