Summary (Last Chapter)

“We’ve called in reinforcements in case it gets out of hand,” Alex tried to reassure him. “He’s not getting away this time. You can get him and go back, we’ll deal with the aftermath.”

And that was apparently the wrong thing to say because Matt’s expression once again turned towards anger rather than relief. “What?”

“You need to get the warlock, right?” Alex was unsure of where this conversation was going, but he couldn’t step back now. “We’ll catch him and you can take him back. You don’t have to stay for the demons too.”

“The same demons you just said you called reinforcements for?” Matt said, now starting to get angry again. “Are you kidding me? No, seriously. Why do you keep doing this?”

“Doing what?” Alex said, desperately wanting answers. Or maybe just one. Just a confirmation that he hadn’t done something unforgivable.

“You keep getting in the way!” Matt nearly shouted, catching Alex off guard.

Summary - Chapter 2

“I’m sorry, if I may interrupt,” Willie said, “I’m gonna need any kind of context. Literally anything. Did we fracture reality in some way after moving back and forth in different universes? Are aliens next?”

“Fract- what? No, this was a spell,” Matt said, once again trying to make this out to be an everyday occurrence. “I came to get a warlock. I’ll take him, go back to my present and you can pretend I was never here. Which was the original plan, but I think Max sent me to you instead of the warlock.”

“Time travel is possible,” Willie stated.

“It shouldn’t be!” Alex couldn’t help but say. “This is one of those things you are not supposed to do. You know, don’t use dark magic, don’t bring people back from the dead, don’t travel through time! Some things should be obvious.”

Summary

“Look, do I think you’re a psychopath here to murder us all? No,” Alex said, not really making the greatest start. “But we’ve had bad luck in the past and it always ended with someone hurt, so you can understand the suspicion. I know you don’t know us and you have no reason to trust us-”

“I screwed up,” Henry cut him off, his head snapping up to look at him. “Bad. Really bad actually. There was a mission and things went wrong and I-” he stopped, looking away again. “I screwed up.” He let out a shaky breath, glancing back at Alex. “I’m trying to fix my mistake. That’s not so bad, is it?”

Alex did not really expect this whole outburst. He had no idea if he’d actually said something right or if the kid just wanted to tell someone what was going on. What he’d told Alex last night made more sense now. “It’s not,” he said. “But going at it alone is not the best decision either.”

Summary (Last Chapter)

All he knew was that he was once again stumbling out and falling on the floor before he could steady himself. Something was wrong with these portals, they were unsteady. Reggie should be able to control them, shouldn’t he?

“It worked! It worked, right? Tux, dress, runes? They’re Shadowhunters!”

“Wrong tux, wrong dress and definitely not my parabatai. You?”

“No. But at least we’re pulling in Shadowhunters, right? That’s a step in the right direction?”

Alex blinked and found a lot of people staring down at him and Julie inquisitively. He didn’t enjoy being scrutinized. But he could also be grateful that they weren’t in the middle of the street this time and no one was trying to fight them.

Summary

What was maybe more concerning was that Alex was definitely not ready and by the way he was pacing he didn’t exactly seem eager to get ready either.

“Don’t tell me you got cold feet,” Luke said as Reggie closed the door behind them. Julie was leaning against the wall on the other side, also definitely not in the same dress he’d seen her before. Had they all abandoned the idea of a wedding?

“You didn’t tell him?” Julie pushed herself off, coming closer.

“I tried!” Reggie defended himself. “But I can guarantee you, Alex wants to get married,” he added to Luke.

“He doesn’t look ready.”

“Well, that’s not our Alex, so don’t worry about that,” Reggie said.

I should ask for boggie but I really want more 3 weddings and a funeral. 1st of all I just love this universe and I really need to go back and read my favorite parts again and second that title is perfection!

Avatar

Hehe thank you so much🥰 I also loved the title because it fit so perfectly, I’m still debating keeping it for the final project too😅

So, we’re in the Willex wedding part of the AU and of course everything’s going to go a little off the rails😅 There is a lot of Alex/Willie (clearly😂) though some of it will probably be unexpected👀 There is also a lot of Alex & Julie as they go through certain things trying to make it to the wedding… And a side of disaster Carrie & Luke (because I once wrote them pairing up together as a funny disaster and I wanted to do it again😂) as they try to make sure no one realizes what is really happening behind the scenes…

So here is a little extra something that doesn’t really tell you anything, but I really wanted to get it in there:

I have not been doing much writing this past month because I was getting ready for a test, so things have not progressed😅 but I do have this from the shadowhunters AU:

“And you could actually explain to me what’s gonna happen tomorrow?” he added to Willie.

Never been good with tags😅

Summary

“Okay, Julie? Hey, look at me,” Willie said, successfully catching her attention. She still hadn't let go of his wrist and Willie didn’t try to pull away either. His voice was oddly soft considering what was going on. “We’re not alone here.”

Julie shook her head. “No.”

“Do you know who’s here?” he asked her.

No,” she said again, nearly desperate.

“But you don’t want us to find out,” he said.

“If we go upstairs,” she said, her voice steady, her stare piercing Willie, “we are going to die.”

Summary:

“What’s wrong?” Luke was suddenly on alert. “No, nothing bad,” Julie amended. “I… don’t know…” She sighed. “We agreed to leave for a while so we could just be us-” “Julie-” “But I just- There are things I don’t- Things I don’t know, things you don’t know-” “Julie-” “Nobody knows us here and if we don’t even attempt-” “Julie, I need you to duck!” Julie had a split second to process what was going on before she smelled the sulfur in the air. She immediately ducked out of Luke’s way just as he grabbed a knife out of his jacket and threw it forward. They hadn’t really brought weapons because they weren’t there as Shadowhunters. Then again Julie always kept her whip on her wrist and she’d assumed that even Luke would be carrying something. Going away completely unarmed wouldn’t be wise in any case. Danger had a way of finding them.

Summary

“Alex, stop!” he heard a shout somewhere behind him. He stopped. But he was also determined. This ended today. “What the hell are you doing? You know this is wrong!” Alex turned around. “A mundane is dead,” he said. This also felt wrong. It felt weird. But it was necessary. “What about the fucking context, Alex?” Willie insisted, still looking a mix between furious and devastated. “The context? What context, Willie? It doesn’t change things!” Alex insisted. Willie stared back at him for a couple of seconds, his expression something close to disbelief. Alex was starting to feel like shit. But they were getting this over with tonight one way or the other. “You don’t really mean that,” he said. “Well, maybe you don’t know me as well as you think you do,” Alex spoke into the silence of the night. They weren’t even that far from the Institute. Alex was glad it was pretty deserted for the time being. He wouldn’t know how to explain this.

Summary

“You really think we can keep going like this? Pretending that this is fine?” Alex shot back. Luke didn’t want to fight. He wanted to talk. But he really didn’t want to talk. He had so many things going through his head, he didn’t even know what he was supposed to do with them. And somehow everything was connected. And somehow Luke had to find a way out. And still through everything he felt like he was sinking even lower. And no one was helping because he wasn’t letting anyone help. But he desperately needed someone to help. He couldn’t fix this on his own. He couldn’t put it on everyone else either. He had no idea what he was doing.

He needed an out.

Summary

“So, how is LA?” her dad asked. “I’ve been away for a few days so I’m not really in the loop with everything.”

Julie breathed out, trying not to blurt everything out right there and then. “Uhm, you know, when is LA ever quiet?”

“I’m aware,” he said as they started walking towards one of the common rooms. “And I’m still not certain you kids tell me everything.”

“I’m not a kid anymore, dad,” Julie said with a little chuckle although at that moment, after everything that’d happened, she really just felt like a little kid again. A kid who needed her dad to tell her it was all going to be okay.

“You’ll always be a kid to me, Julie,” he told her and she pretended to ignore how her eyes burned with unshed tears.

with willexxxxxxxx pls and thanks :))

“I know, I know this hurts, but you have to stay awake,” Alex pleaded with him. “Okay? Don’t close your eyes, please don’t close your eyes!”

Alex woke up with a gasp as he shifted on the bed. He fell back against his pillow, squeezing his eyes shut once again and breathing out. He wasn’t even sure whom he’d been calling out for in the dream. With everything that’d been going on lately it could literally be anyone because all Alex could feel was worry and uneasiness.

Julie didn’t really remember everything. Her head was still fuzzy, the headaches came and went and every time she tried to recall certain parts it felt like it was going to split open.

But she still remembered plenty.

She remembered darkness and pain and a voice inside her head just screaming. Or maybe she was the one who had been doing the screaming. She wasn’t so sure anymore.

And then there were glimpses of her friends here and there. Her friends who had been getting hurt because of her, because she’d somehow been possessed when she wasn’t even sure what had happened in the first place.

And then there was Luke.

Part 41

Summary

“I am dead, you know? And that’s fine, it’s been years, I’ve come to peace with it, etcetera, etcetera. But there’s a reason ghosts don’t just hover around for eternity unless they were cursed or did something seriously wrong. I was just unlucky. Also, my friends are idiots who keep having near death experiences and then one actually died for a while there and well, can you blame me for getting some separation anxiety?” Bobby said.

Julie really couldn’t. She’d been there for the aftermath and she still remembered how Luke and Reggie had just dropped to the ground and how they had to spend hours not knowing whether Alex was going to make it or not. At least they had each other, Bobby must have been alone…

“So, you started coming around more often,” she said.

Bobby nodded. “And I thought, what’s the worst that can happen, I’m already dead,” he continued. “But then it started becoming a bit harder moving back and forth which is when I should have stopped doing it.”

“But you didn’t,” Julie concluded.

“But I didn’t,” Bobby agreed.

alex and carrie

Alex ran over to the training room, only to find it empty. He’d desperately wished he’d find Carrie there, just punching her frustrations away like she tended to do. Because that, Alex knew how to deal with. It was anger, it was rage and he could talk her down. But Carrie wasn’t there.

So, if she wasn’t in her room, wasn’t in the infirmary, wasn’t in the training room, was it now the right time to freak out?

are you throwing up in there?

just breathe… that whole one

i can’t breathe, i can’t-

can it be a luke and bobby throwback?

This actually paired up nicely with an anon request I'd gotten about the series a little while ago:

was re-reading life is a risk, and chapter 8 has this line “Luke - who once had a fever of 103 and was still attached to that guitar not willing to let go just because he was delirious…” so i thought a shot about that time would be fun haha

I couldn't figure out where to put it in the main series, so it's right here😅

Bobby was a Shadowhunter. He was fifteen years old and he’d recently officially started killing demons for a living. And he was doing so well.

What he wasn’t doing so well with, was being stuck as the babysitter and when Alex and Reggie were back, they were definitely going to hear all about it.

And what was even more infuriating was that Luke just wouldn’t stay still. You’d think a fever of 103 and the fact that he was pretty much delirious by this point would be enough to keep him in bed, but Bobby had been running after him all around the Institute, trying to get him to sleep.

Luke on the other hand had different plans and he’d decided that this was the perfect time for him to finish a song he’d started writing a few days ago. Bobby had been trying to take his guitar away, but trying to get Luke to give up on music was a lost battle and there was no point really in even going for it.
