s'why i don’t really side with the way  ppl say that “young straight girls fetishize gay men !!” i had the same heavily religious and homophobic upbringing, and i found out about gay stuff thru mlm anime ships and i realized, ‘oh this makes sense somehow and i enjoy this a lot more than the boy/girl ships i’ve seen’. for years that’s all i was interested in but i still wasn’t interested in wlw ships (and by that i mean stayed as far away from it as possible) because i still very much suffered horrible internalized misogyny and homophobia EVEN tho i shipped mlm because it was easier to project onto another gender than my own and still distance myself from being gay and have the excuse of being A Really Supportive Ally . 

and i’m not saying AT ALL that there are not straight women/girls that don’t fetishize gay men or men who are even the littlest bit affectionate with each other but maybe take into consideration that maybe some of these young girls are just unawakened lil gays themselves .

straight people will do absolutely everything to dismiss a gay narrative, everything, even when the narrative is written to be seen as romantic, as valid, they will do everything to dismiss the truth and it’s on them, because they never have had to work for it, never had to think twice about it. it’s them being homophobic and demanding the most absolute truth as clear and evident because they don’t want to think about it
