it's taken me a while to come to grips with the season finale but, man, i can't believe ed died in izzy's arms after izzy begged ed not to go, said that he was izzy's only family, and ed told izzy that he was surrounded by family and they loved him and then in their mutual grief izzy and stede slept together. it was so beautiful and sad and im going to miss ed but it was really the only logical conclusion to the narrative the writers would have made ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

when this red suit was first introduced, i thought it's some kind of confidence and skill booster that will eventually doom stede; because i'm all about stizzy right now, he'd make an unpredictable (or not so unpredictable) move on izzy, and of course it would lead to drama when stede takes the suit off and his conscience is back

no but gentlehands really is great like you would think the two characters who hated and dueled and stabbed each other while crushing on the same guy the entire first season would have like. a really slowburn friendship but no. izzy's like ok well new captain hours i guess. I just hang out in this man's room 24/7 now and I watch him twirl around in his pretty coats and I spout ominous poetry at him and give him pirate lessons while making sure I touch his ass and I HAVE TO look softly and proudly at him when he is good at pirate captaining. this is just what I do now

I think i do want Stede to get back into fancy clothes next season, but I want them to be constantly disheveled or torn or stained. He’ll be in a constant battle against wrinkles and rips and blood and he’s getting his ass kicked.
